Devotional Book For Christian Career Women,
By
This review is from: Jesus, Life Coach: Learn from the Best (Hardcover)
The value of "Jesus, Life Coach" all depends on what you're looking for. If you are a career woman looking for a devotional book full of interesting stories and practical life application you are going to be thrilled with this one.If you are searching for a guidebook to assist you in coaching people or nuts and bolts instruction on life skills development, you are going to be very disappointed. I was looking for the later but have based my rating on the former. Laurie Beth Jones proves to be a very good devotional writer for today's Christian career woman.

When I heard the ad for this book on the radio I rushed right out and bought it (I NEVER do this!), not even looking inside first. I thought it would be about how to figure out what to do with one's life, career wise; sort of a Christian "What Color Is Your Parachute?"It's not. It reads like a daily devotional book. It's a fine devotional book too, but the title is wrong and misleading. Furthermore, I had a bit of trouble relating to the author who seemed to be all business-woman whereas I've been a stay at home Mom for 18 years. Because she was talking about the intimacy of life choices I would expect her to share a bit about why she never married. This was not the case. IN sum, this book would be a nice gift for a seriously single working woman who needs a daily devotional.

This book encourages Thinking - Questioning - Asking Tough Questions - That's Coaching!,

This review is from: Jesus, Life Coach: Learn from the Best (Hardcover)
I really enjoyed the book - read it through once underlined points to remember. Now I am going back and reading again the highlights. I like it even better, the second time through. Miss Jones' writing show passion. A man or woman, anybody who acts on the truths in this book will see change. That's what Coaching is about, Forward Change, not dwelling on the past, but learning, not dwelling in it. I am a man and enjoyed it greatly.

When I heard the add for this book I expected it be a Christian version of "What Color is your Parachute," helping me to decide what to do with my life. I ran right out and bought it without even checking the inside! I NEVER do this. I usually just check out books from the library! The title and the ad were misleading. I see this as a fine daily devotional, especially for serious business women like the author. I have been a stay-at-home mom for 17 years and could not relate that well to this author. I was also surprised that she never shared why she never married seeing that the topics she covered were so personal.

Laurie Beth Jones is a prominent figure in life coaching circles. This particular book is a good daily devotional for women, particularly businesswomen, from a coaching perspective.Although the title talks about learning coaching from Jesus, the book really doesn't focus on learning how to coach--hence the three stars. If you are new to coaching or looking for a Christian coaching how-to, Coaching for Christian Leaders: A Practical Guide (TCP Leadership Series) or my Leadership Coaching: The Disciplines, Skills, and Heart of a Christian Coach focus more on practical tools, skills and models. I did really like The Path: Creating Your Mission Statement for Work and for Life by Jones--it has some excellent handles on creating life mission and value statements, and has more of a balance of practical tools and stories.

great book, great service,

Hello!I must say that has exceeded my expectations! I have not read the book completely yet, but it makes me stronger every day while reading , even one page per day gives me more open view what and how we should do - both in our personal and business life. Of course the book is written in a way that does not force me to do this or that but makes me think why the ancient wisdom is still actual and essential. Although the book is written by a Methodist (I am a Catholic), Laurie proves that we all belong to only one GOD and our main devotion is LOVE to God, people and the whole World. By the way - I got the book very very quickly... I am from Poland in Europe (the book has not been translated into Polish yet) and I expected to get it in a month time, and actually I got in more than one week! Well done!

Not for guys or non-businessy people!,
By
This review is from: Jesus, Life Coach: Learn from the Best (Hardcover)
When I saw this book, i thought it was a good book for me. but when i began to read it (after i bought it), i noticed something that i hadn't before: this was a woman's book. and not only a womens book, but a businesss womens book. i am not a woman, nor am i a business person, so i couldn't relate to the author AT ALL. So, I wouldn't recomend this book to boys, guys, or men; nor would i recomend it to women that can't relate to business-type stuff (which i can't). i feel bad that i wasted my money on a book written for the oppisite sex, but oh well... it was bargain price! My ratings is innaccurate for the appropiate adience of this book, though...

We Can All Benefit from Having the Right Coach,
By
This review is from: Jesus, Life Coach: Learn from the Best (Paperback)
Laurie Beth Jones does an excellent job of sharing real wisdom to those who are open or seeking. If you want to be the best you have to learn from the best and she's picked the right individual to emulate. From carpenter to savior Jesus first transformed himself, then the world. We like Jesus have the same ability if we are open to renewing our mind in truth. Having life abundantly is no accident. Each of us needs a guide. As a new believer I'm thankful for people like Laurie Beth. In this age of heightened anxiety and turmoil having someone to guide us in our daily journey is a true blessing.

A Great Devo - Quick but has depth throughout. 3.5 Actually,
By
This review is from: Jesus, Life Coach: Learn from the Best (Paperback)
Laurie Beth Jones has written a great daily devotional in this book. I use it in conjunction with the verse she gives at the beginning, I read the chapter, then read through what she has written. Each day ranges in its depth of subject, but mixed with the chapter of the Bible it can be life changing. Regardless of the depth each page can get you thinking, believing and most importantly reading and trying to discover for yourself. Every coach wants to help you get it, she wants you to search for more info, challenge your beliefs, seek wisdom!Bottom line: It'll get you thinking and on the right track.
