Book Description

August 1, 2002
In her previous books, Beth Moore has introduced her readers to David and Paul. In Jesus, the One and Only, Beth introduces them to an intimate Savior as they get a close-up and personal portrait of the life of Jesus the Messiah.

But this is far more than just a work on the life of Christ. As He has done in the past, God uses Beth’s words to woo the reader into a romance with the One and Only. The reader comes to know Christ personally, watching and listening as He breaks up a funeral by raising the dead, confronts conniving religious leaders of His day, teaches on a Galilean hillside, or walks on the waves and calms the storm.

About the Author

Beth Moore is a writer and teacher of best-selling books and Bible studies whose public speaking engagements carry her all over the United States. A dedicated wife and mother of two adult daughters, Moore lives in Houston, Texas, where she is president and founder of Living Proof Ministries. Her books include Praying God’s Word, Believing God, Breaking Free, When Godly People Do Ungodly Things, A Heart Like His, The Beloved Disciple, among others.

From AudioFile

The author uses her considerable narrative skills and historical sensibilities to tell her listeners about the time and place where Jesus lived. She provides an attractive, moving account that references biblical sources sparingly, thereby enlightening and contextualizing the story rather than cluttering and constraining it. Listeners will hear the story of the historical Jesus--the extraordinary Jewish mystic who 2,000 years ago taught and performed miracles in Israel--rather than the view of Jesus sanitized by the all-male King James scholars. Read with informed maturity, this is a story that will enlighten, inform--and inspire. 5.0 out of 5 stars Bringing Me to the Feet of Jesus March 9, 2003
Format:Hardcover
This touching, unique book written by Beth Moore has cut deeply into my heart. Through this perfectly layed out book, Moore brings the reader through a realistic adventure about the life of Jesus Christ. She reveals many truths about Jesus' life that we overlook when reading the Bible's facts about His life. Moore's insightful words are refreshing, freeing, and eye-opening. This book touched my heart softly and intimately, bringing me closer to the loving and graceful heart of my Savior Jesus Christ. The realistic views and the heartfelt moments that the reader enters with this book are life changing and freeing. Anyone who has ever wanted a closer look at the life of Jesus and a deeper touch of His unconditional love should readh this book. I absolutely love and adore this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beth Moore loves Jesus like we all should March 23, 2005
Format:Hardcover
For anyone who is serious about becoming a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, this heart felt study of the gospel of Luke is an excellent place to start. A fulcrum for any personal Christian library, this easy to follow format provides a reusable outline for study of the other three gospels. The one thing that sets this book apart, I believe, is the wonderful insight into the reality of Jesus' day to day life, offered my Ms. Moore. It is as if she is really there, walking with the Master. Her radiant love for our Lord is overwhelmingly evident in her words. May we all learn to love Jesus in such a way and know Him as personaly as this author obviously does.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a wonderful gift! March 2, 2005
By beckwa
Format:Paperback
I don't normally share my opinions with the general public, but this book has moved me to do so.

I was raised under the rather misguided impression that Jesus was a very solemn and quiet person. One who at times, tended to do quite a bit of chastising to His flock. Beth Moore's gift of speaking and writing is amazing. She does an exceptional job of portraying what a kind, loving, and JOYFUL person he was. My eyes were opened to a whole new (and joyful!) way of looking at Jesus and the Bible (and the New Testament specifically)!

I found her book through a bible study class offered through my new church and I would HIGHLY recommend getting her CD (or DVD if it is offered) of this study because she has a phenomenal way of helping you to visualize the life Jesus led and the world He lived in.

I loved the book and the study so much that I am now looking for other books that she has written.
