THIS cd is absolutely GORGEOUS. As an African American male, son of a recently deceased preacher, the selection of spirituals, BARBARA HENDRICKS' luminous singing.....AND.....the wonderful arrangements by Moses HOGAN with The Moses Hogan Chorale...... are TIMELESS.

HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS...... Very moving for me with deep personal HISTORY around The Negro Spiritual and the recent death of my parents, who loved Negro Spirituals.

THIS CD ....along with.... the LANDMARK and DESERT ISLAND EMI recording of Negro Spirituals by FLORENCE QUIVAR and The Harlem Boys Choir.....make the strongest statement in recorded sound.....for the deep spiritual and personal journeys which Negro Spirituals represent for African Americans and for the larger interfaith human spirit.... OUTSTANDING, TIMELESS TREASURES.......

I purchased this album for my Radio Program...The recording levels are so low it can't be heard at a normal volume then all of a sudden there is this "scream". . .There are a couple of the songs that I will play on my program, but my overall feeling about it is "Very Poor Production"
