Enclosed Gearbox for Better Performance without Gear Changes
The GHB-1340A combines one of Jet's most popular lathes with an enclosed gearbox for better performance and large threading and feed capabilities with no gear changes.

The geared head engine lathes include hardened and ground gears in the headstock and gearbox; additionally, the headstock is constantly oiled during operation for smooth, consistent performance. For added convenience, the GHB-1340A also includes splined, not keyed shafts.

Powerful Motor and Versatile, Precision Ground Spindle
The GHB-1340A operates with a heavy-duty 2 HP, 1Ph, 230-volt motor that provides powerful performance. It also features a versatile D1-4 spindle that offers eight speeds ranging from 70 to 2000 RPM for flexibility and control.

The spindle is precision ground for accuracy and supported by high-quality tapered roller bearings. Additionally, apron-mounted spindle actuation controls feature an inch/metric dial for quick and easy measuring.

Durable and Flexible V-Bed, Carriage, and Slideway Design
The GHB-1340A features a v-way bed design that's induction hardened for durability, with a gap bed section for larger diameter work. The compound and cross slide help eliminate backlash, and the carriage and slideways offer incorporated, adjustable gibs. Additionally, the tailstock may be offset for turning tapers and includes an inch-metric graduated quill.

The GHB-1340A measures 71 x 32 x 47 inches (WxHxD).
