This is nothing more than glorified dryer vent hose. Someone in the marketing department used a good bit of literary license when they described this as "heavy-duty, clear, wire-reinforced hose is strong, durable, flexible, and reliable". If you need a short piece 6"-12" for a final hook up it might work, but if you're looking for 6" hose for a roll around dust collector look elsewhere. This hose is totally unsuited for that type application. It's thin walled and not rigid, as soon as you put a vacuum to it collapses on itself. for $5 per foot it's Pure junk...

This is an awesome product. I am just amazed to see the wood chips fly out of the Powermatic planer. It is easy to see if I left too many gates open somewhere in the dust collection system as the chips won't be moving as fast as they would if only two gates are open instead of three or four. The wire is tough so use an older side cutters so you don't "dink" the cutting surface on a good cutter. The plastic may seem a bit thin for some but I have not had any problems. The planer moves out about three feet from its storage area for use and is returned to its storage area with the hose providing five foot of flexible ducting. It is hooked up to a 6 inch gate positioned 6'6" above the floor. The price is a good value.
