This is a good little compact unit.
Amazon Customer
It heats the water quickly and makes enough for two cups of coffee, but I had to boil extra water for the oatmeal.

The high and low heat adjustment could use some fine tuning but over all I LOVE IT.

I just spent three days camping at Morro Bay. I have a Coleman propane stove that I have been using for 25 years. On most camping trips I was using this to heat water for coffee, hot chocolate etc. This trip I had my new Jetboil Flash Java and found myself using at every meal and between meals for some quick coffee, or for some quick hot water for other uses. It works exactly like the description says. Two cups in two minutes. My trusty old Coleman stove was never turned on.

I purchased this item and I couldn't wait to try it out, so I planned a solo hike up Mt.Baldy. I took some freeze dried food with me and the pack of coffee that came with this product. When I stopped to eat lunch at about 8,500 feet elevation I busted out my Jetboil. That water boiled so quickly..I was blown away...it was also super windy that day and that hardly made a difference...Get it!

I don't give 5 stars easily, it has to be perfect. Know that only the smallest of the fuel cartridges will pack inside the unit. And while the JetBoil IS usable as a regular camp stove with the attachment for holding normal pots and pans, it is hard to get the stove to maintain a simmer. In morning dew/damp conditions, the piezo lighter may not work. The burner is small and concentrated so cooking with larger pots is less than optimal. Last "complaint", a lot of grounds get past the french press plunger, even when using a coarser ground coffee and being very careful and methodical with the pressing... But MAN, this thing boils water FAST and is great for quickly making coffee and heating water for dehydrated meals, oatmeal, etc. It is very fast and efficieint in its main design context, but not a great replacement for a regular camp stove. For bikepacking and wilderness canoeing, it will probably remain the only stove I bring, however. Rather than bring a white gas stove, french press, bottle of fuel, and aluminum "teapot" for heating water in, the sum of which is a lot heavier and bulkier than a JetBoil which performs everything at least more than adequately, if not perfect.

LOVED IT. Coffee in the morning makes camping oh so much better. My major tip is to make sure you press the coffee slowly, otherwise you'll get grounds in your java...but that's it.

I used this on a trip where I had to fly and could not bring a larger stove along. It heats the water quickly and makes enough for two cups of coffee, but I had to boil extra water for the oatmeal. It's compact, travels well and will be something I'm excited to use again when backpacking!

The new dial on the the Jetboil flash makes it really easy to control the heat. I can't comment on how long the fuel lasts, I'll have to experiment with that on a longer trip!

Bought this for a backpack trip in the adirondacks. Set up is quick and easy, is surprisingly stable, automatic ignitor is a nice bonus. Boils water alot faster than our friends MSR pocket rocket. We were eating and they were still waiting to boil. It is efficient so the added weight is nullified by using less fuel canisters( 1 for 4 days cooking for 3)

Having read as much as I could, I jumped in and bought the Jetboil. It boiled water in less than the 2 minutes talked about. It made coffee easy. It made cooking easy. It was...easy! I also liked that as I was unloading the trailer, I could see from a distance when the water was ready by the yellow filling up the stripes on the side of the Jetboil. This is a good little compact unit. Well worth the money. I didn't know when I bought this kit that it came with the little device to set on top and use a regular flying pan or cooking pot. I haven't really used others so I don't know how it compares. I never pulled my Coleman two burner out of the trailer!

The Flash Java is terrific- well engineered so that all pieces fit snuggly in the container. Heats up super fast. The ignition system has been improved upon since the last one I bought several years ago. I like this company- they just keep fine tuning this product. (We have purchased 3 Jet Boils in the past month- 2 for graduation gifts and one for me- so my husband doesn't have to share his with me!)
