Book Description

May 20, 2000 Kashin Saga (Book 1)
Jettison is a science fiction adventure following in the footsteps of Gene Roddenberry.

Jettison was originally written 25 years ago for the Star Trek universe. It was rewritten over 15 yeasr ago into its own world, and languished in a box until last summer when it was rediscovered.

Martin Daniels is a renegade captain whoe rule-breaking risk-taking decisions had cost him one command. Now he was back, looking for answers, and nothing was going to stop him. Nothing that is, until a data bouy told them all what had become of the woman who haunted his dreams.

T'Zara was a high priestess of the fierce Kashin warriors. As her ship fell victim to the very menace Daniels was tracking, she was left stranded on a planet whose lifeforms defied conventional rules. Even as she and her remaining warriors fought to keep the rest of their party alive, she felt driven to reach out to the one man she knew would risk anything to find her.

Thalos fled his homeworld to rejoin the crew he had adopted as his family. He meant to put the ship and the crew back together for his captain - even as he struggled with his own problem - one that could cost him his life. He was the only link that could lead them to the survivors - and he meant to live long enough to do it.

Editorial Reviews

Review

If you are a Star Trek fan you will find Jettison an excellent science fiction novel. -- Romantic Times, pg 61, May 2000

a science fiction which does not overwhelm you with technobabble. .. it is a book I did not willingly put down. -- Romantic Times Magazine, May 2000, 4 stars

From the Publisher

The JETTISON novel is the first part of the Kashin Saga. It was introduced to readers in Romantic Times and StarLog magazines in May 2000. The self-publishing adventure has been documented by a series of articles and editorials in Romantic Times Magazine, as readers followed the process of developing a cover (hire a model, find a location, hire a photographer, and fly an alien weapon through the San Jose and San Diego airports), creating a poster with digital magic, and doing a calendar photoshoot (Extreme Troy 2001 calendar). The final calendar is also available on Amazon.com. The JETTISON poster art is the centerfold in the calendar.

WhitePubs will publish eBooks, with some limited POD, featuring high-tech books, K-12 text books, and, of course, fiction, humor, and whatever else comes along.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jettison by D. E. White, October 5, 2000

This review is from: Jettison (Kashin Saga) (Paperback)
Jettison turned me into a deep space addict. Where can I find a Captain Daniels of my own? D.E. White made me feel his terrible loss when his wife was killed, his frustration when ships were missing and his crew acting strangely. I could keenly sense his fascination with the beautiful and forbidden Kali healer, T'Zara. Their's was a love beyond the mere coupling of bodies. For one brief moment they shared a breathtaking, deep, spiritual connection bonding them as well. This book touched all my senses. Jettison is a screenwriter's dream. It's primed for becoming a movie. I can't wait for the sequel and see where D.E. White takes the Captain, his loyal crew, and his romances soaring again.

Jettison was enjoyable reading. The story kept a great pace and had an exciting plot. The characters had substance and you could really visualize the scenes. The ending came as a plesant suprise! Although I don't usually read sci-fi, I am impatiently awaiting the next book.
