Haunting Music Sung by a Radiant Voice,
By
This review is from: Le Jeu D'Amour (Audio CD)
Anne Azema brings a magnificent, radiant voice to a program of haunting lyricism. The album contains many exotic and beautiful melodies. Margot, Margot; Prendes i garde; and Amour me fait commencier are among the finest. She has recorded other medieval French repertoire on CD's entitled The Unicorn and Lo Si Gaber. Both are excellent releases. I own and value both. My next investment will be Douce Beaute. I never tire of her music and eagerly await the release of more medieval repertoire by her.

Crisp sound, brilliant performance, eclectic repetoire. An incredible pleasure. Both singer and musicians are at their best in this fine recording. If you enjoy medieval or baroque music, this CD is not to be missed. |
