5.0 out of 5 stars A jewel of a book!
I read Jewel in the Lotus several years ago, as I was begining my Tantric journey and had a lot of issues to address about the things that prevented me from feeling deep satisfaction in sexual union. It has helped me to realize sexuality as a gateway to intimacy and spiritual awareness. It is written like a text book with exercises at the end of each chapter. I...

3.0 out of 5 stars too idiosyncratic
well, i'm plowing thru this book. i think while it has a lot to offer, it's also all over the place. while 20 years ago i might have enjoyed this book with all it's authors idiosyncracies, i think nowadays it needs a rewrite and editing. it's not just a primer on tantra, but it seems to want to be all things philosophical, eastern/yogic as well. i guess if i didn't...

5.0 out of 5 stars A jewel of a book!, January 23, 2000
By A Customer
I read Jewel in the Lotus several years ago, as I was begining my Tantric journey and had a lot of issues to address about the things that prevented me from feeling deep satisfaction in sexual union. It has helped me to realize sexuality as a gateway to intimacy and spiritual awareness. It is written like a text book with exercises at the end of each chapter. I found this format very useful as it allowed me to reflect and understand my concepts and beliefs about sex that don't serve me. So many of us are in some way limited in our ability to enjoy the pleasures of sex guiltlessly. Jewel in the Lotus gives a sacred yet scientific perspective that helps us make choices about our views on sex based on the facts, free of guilt.

5.0 out of 5 stars kriya yoga tantra student, February 13, 2005
I'm currently a student of Kriya Yoga and this system, and found this book to be the building block of a solid pratice. I definetely recommend for the sincere student, I will not defend this work from humans as it was meant for human beings. I would say that you should research the authors and find out about them before buying this book if you have doubts. Simply put Sunyata Saraswati was a student of kriyananda(Chicago), Jaradan, and Satyananda(who taught him tantra). All of these teachers are from the Kriya Yoga tradition and traces back to Babaji. Bodhi Avinasha was a student of Sunyata and Osho, which should clarify her statis, I look forward to meeting her soon. Tantra is neither light or dark, it is both if any, which in reality is just a reflection of the goodness or evil in the practitioner. Never fear it and know that those which are meant for tantra will always find it, and those that aren't will gentle flow away from it. Namaste, with the love of mother(Shakti)!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, April 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Jewel in the Lotus: The Tantric Path to Higher Consciousness : A Complete and Systematic Couse in Tantric Kriya Yoga (Paperback)
This is a powerful step-by-step guide to the path of Tantra. It s very philsophical and deep, and very powerful. I recommend it highly only to serious students. If you are not disciplined and serious about the path, don't bother. If you are, this book is mandatory! I can almost promise that it will change your whole life!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Some useful material for the discriminating seeker, January 30, 2003
A Kid's Review
For those without a partner, there are some useful exercises such as the Rishi Isometrics and other breathing exercises. I would recommend learning the MentalPhysics Exercises taught by Edwin Dingle however. This book does contain a more effective form of the 5 Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation that is very popular. Additional techniques are given to make the exercise more effective. Stephon Co's latest book also modifies the 5 Tibetans and makes it easier for the elderly and the infirm. If you're on the Tantric path you could also look into the other comapnion book, The Ipsalue Formula by Bodhi Avinasha. Kriya Tantra Yoga is supposed to be from Babaji Maharaj who gave it to Lahiri Mahasaya who gave it to Sri Mukteswar. Don't know if this is the case or if they ever even spearated White and Black Tantra. Tantra can be the way to enlightenment but most of the stuff out there is contaminated so it's hard to be a purist. Safer to stick with genuine Kriya Yoga for attaining your spiritual goals. For your other needs, check out the One Minute Guide to Prosperity by Sri Siva and Power Healing by Dr. Sha both of whom have web sites for more info.

It's very inspiring and are good organized by chapters that mark the step by step practices to develop a good approach to your self and to the technique.
