A Decent Jewel in My Collection, April 23, 2007
This review is from: Jewel -- Pieces of You: Piano/Vocal/Chords (Sheet music)
I loved Jewel's album, "Pieces of You". I grew up listening to it. The songs range from relaxing, to eye-opening, to uplifting. Now I am a little more grown up and have learned how to play the piano. Now, you have to remember I know close to nothing about guitars. I'm assuming that this songbook was most likely designed with guitar players in mind since that was what Jewel primarily featured on her album.
The transcriptions, however, are fairly simple. Good for a novice, but I strive for more of a challenge. For example, "Foolish Games" begins sounding alot like the original piano part recorded, but soon enough, it begins to rely too heavily on the melody. It nearly ignores the original piano part.
I do like having this songbook in my collection, but it doesn't stand out. It's just a jumble of washed out melodies to me. However, I still will give everyone the benefit of the doubt and give it 3 stars because I still play the songs regardless.

Jewel -- Pieces of you awesome, January 3, 2012
This review is from: Jewel -- Pieces of You: Piano/Vocal/Chords (Sheet music)
Another great book of piano music that also includes the vocal music and the cords by Jewel. Just loved listening to my daughter play on her piano and hearing her beautiful voice sing these Jewel songs. She definitely loved this book and would recommend for anyone who plays the piano.
