The head band is not very comfortable to wear, and the visor is not staying at flip up position.

The light is fine, and the magnification works well for my purpose.

This ("Jeweler's lighted high-power magnifier visor") was my third attempt to find a satisfactory magnifier visor. My first purchase, a sugeon's model, worked well but lacked adjustable magnification and had no light. The second was far worse. While it had essentially the same features as the Jeweler's, it fell to pieces after only minutes (literally) of nothing more strenuous than being perched on my forehead. The lenses were similarly problematic, offering poor focus, especially on the periphery and when used in combinations. The 2 led lights, attached one to each temple area of the visor, were simply awful. Lacking adjustment. The provide illumination to the left and right of the object of your attention, and even then are rather dim. This is, I must add, when they are functioning, since on several occasions the battery case covers spontaneously liberated themselves and their battery friends onto my floor.

This model, in contrast, is (mostly) of a solid build, with higher quality plastic used in the lenses which work well alone and combination, and resist periphery distortion. The led lights are really quite good; bright and adjustable in both pan and tilt. The only immediate problem is the swivel monocle, which while clear and strong, came loose of it's perch as flopped haplessly, enslaved to gravity. A philips screwdriver fixed the symptoms but the problem is a particularly cheap design for this lens' swivel mechanism; it promises ongoing inconvenience.

Yet this is a minor quibble. For the money, this is far and away the best choice I've found.

The visor is exactly as described, perfect for fine work, comfortable to wear and easy to use. A longer focal distance would be an advantage but all focal points become closer as the magnification becomes stronger, and that is across all brands and qualities. apart from that, a very good item.

The sharp edge of both the headband and the drop down visor bit into my skin. As shipped I wouldn't have been able to wear this item long enough to accomplish the tasks I bought it for (replacing tiny screws in the tip of epees and other fencing equipment maintenance.) Fortunately, I had some adhesive backed felt sheets. I cut to fit and folded two pieces of this over the sharp edges. Problem solved.

My left eye is dominant so I hoped that I would be able to change the flip down monocle to the left side. Yes, it is possible. Remove the screw on the left side, remove the monocle assembly, switch, screw both screws in their new places.

Of course, at the price, I shouldn't have expected more.

Well, I had one of these from 35 years ago, and last year, the headband finally broke in 3 pieces (it had been glued together once or twice before :)).
My wife found this one, and it's a great improvement over my old magnifier! This has a fixed set of lenses, and a flip-down set of lenses, so I have 2 magnification powers with binocular vision! This is in addition to the extra power loupe that rotates down for a single eye.
All-in-all, an Excellent magnifier--now if it'll just last for 35 more years :)

The directional light works well, it is on the bluish side, not too heavy. The magnifiers do get you very close but there is some distortion beyond the center of each lense, even with the least magnification, I like the design and may do some modifications, maybe change the lenses. For the price it's okay.

The headband is not as pictured. It might have been very sturdy as pictured, but the clip in the back was changed to a very flimsy one which will not hold the unit steady on your head. Also the side clips are impossible to tighten. The magnifying end of this unit does appear to be very well made, but combined with the poor head band, this results in a useless product. The description says it has this, "Quick-adjust headband with ratchet mechanism - just turn knob to tighten/loosen while wearing," it does not. I sent mine back and bought a different unit.

This product is okay for the price but it is not very comfortable and if it were a high end product it would cost much more and would be designed better. I wear a cloth headband under the Visor and I bought some felt and lined the head-strap, and the bottom ridge of the lens housing which drops below the headband, so now it doesn't pinch my forehead.
