Superb and Splendid,

This book is lushly put together by Princess Maria Gabriella the oldest daughter of the last King and Queen of Italy and by far the most knowledgeable and serious of the 4. She was a devoted daughter to both parents and learned many details of the gems and history of the dynasty.
Her explanations are very detailed and the photographs are unbelievable. Too bad that because of circumstances so many of these works of the jewelers' art have been sold. We can only hope that they are not broken up as so many historical pieces have in the past. The section of the jewels that were left in the Bank of Rome when the royal family left are incredible. Too bad that they are not placed on display so that they can be enjoyed like the other royal jewels around the world. I bought this book in Rome (in original Italian) and strongly recommend it to all lovers of the jeweler's art as well as those interested in the Savoys.
