She has owned and managed "Susan Eisen Fine Watches and Jewelry" for 30 years and has hosted jewelry shows, the "Crazy About Jewerly" radio shows, and art expositions. Susan Eisen is a jewelry designer and jewelry store owner in El Paso, where I live. She is THE expert in terms of appraising, repairing, designing and caring for jewelry of all kinds. This book is loaded with great tips about how to travel with, store, buy, sell, redesign and take care of your jewelry. Easy to read, filled with fun illustrations. A great book!

I absolutely love this book! My jewelry is a mess, and this book has inspired me to get it organized and learn what I have. There are so many good ideas on how to make old pieces new, how to buy jewelry, protecting your jewelry, how to wear jewelry with your own fashion, etc. The illustrations are smart and beautiful, very colorful. I love all the little client anecdotes from Susan, like the engagement ring that almost got lost in the mail or the client who wanted an "8 carrot" ring. She obviously has a ton of experience in this industry, and it really shows in this book. Full recommendation to everyone who wears jewelry!

I was about as jewelry-impaired as they come. You know the type: own a few good pieces and a bunch of costume jewelry of questionable attractiveness, wear the same stuff all the time, keep jewelry tangled and clumped in messy drawers, never get around to having things appraised or repaired or remade, and totally clueless about how to get the most enjoyment out of my jewelry. I didn't even keep up with what I had, or what goes with what, or what to do with unwanted pieces.

But no more! Thanks to a jewel of a book by gemologist Susan Eisen, I am one happy - and informed - camper now! You will love the highly readable, cutely illustrated, extremely helpful suggestions and stories that Ms. Eisen includes. Every page was an eye opener for me and totally useful. Any female from age 14 up will absolutely love this delightful book.
