Book Description

Jewelry Making For Beginners Ultimate Guide

"Jewelry Making For Beginners" is a text that not only highlights the basics of making various types of jewelry, it also goes just a bit further into the process without making it overwhelming for the beginner. The aim that the author has with this text is to inform and educate and make the overall process as easy as possible to execute.

The individual that has no concept at all of what jewelry making entails can read the text and not only get an overview of the jewelry making process but also get a bit of insight on the various processes that one can focus on be it using metal or beads or gems and stones.

This book is a great source of reference for any hobbyist with an interest in making jewelry in their spare time or someone who has a creative side and has an interest in earning an income from making jewelry. The book is a great place to start to achieve that goal of creating great piece of wearable art.

Of course this text will not appeal to everyone as not all are interested in using their hands or creativity to make something but for those who are it works.

About the Author

Let Me Introduce Myself Here

Ever since she was a child Janet Evans had an appreciation for jewelry especially those that are hand crafted and not commercially manufactured. This led her to try to find out as much as she could about jewelry making until it got to a point where she made the decision to try her hand at it.

After trying out one method she found that she was driven to do further research to perfect her craft. As this was a hobby for her the progress was slow but she did get through it all and found that by combining a number of techniques from different jewelry making guides, she was able to produce jewelry that she not only liked but could sell as well to make some extra cash.

She also saw the need to put some sort of text together that would more advanced than a very basic outline of how to  create jewelry but not as complex as the more advanced texts that can be found on the market today. Janet was interested in creating a text that would be easy to understand and also provide a bit more than just the mere basics. What she has presented is what she has tried herself.

This book on jewelry making is a well-organized, comprehensive guide to jewelry making. After first discussing the reasons people want to make their own jewelry, Janet Evans goes on to relay the fact that you do not need any experience whatsoever to get started. She details the supplies needed, the costs associated with jewelry-making, and how to care for the jewelry after it is made. In addition to all of this, she talks about the tools of the trade, the work area, the weights and measurements and, finally, discusses how to craft the various types of jewelry.

If you have any interest in this hobby or want to start a jewelry-making business. this book will provide you with all of the information you need to do so.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some Great Information March 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Jewelry making is something that I've always marveled at and have always wanted to do. So, after reading through the pages of this book, with my ereader in hand, I went to purchase the items I needed to get started.
With this book as a reference, I've made a couple of simple pieces so far and hope to get better with practice.
I'm hoping that this author comes out with other books showing how to make specific pieces of jewelry.

This book only tells you what to buy. There is no "jewely making" in it. I would not recommend this book to anyone

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless for any practical purpose January 8, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Don't be fooled by the subtitle, "A Complete & Easy Step by Step Guide" because this is anything but. The book has no real information about making jewelry. It offers a lot of very general information (all available free on the internet) and a grossly oversimplified list of what to buy, with minimal information provided on various tools, supplies, and equipment. As for where to buy jewelry-making equipment, the author provides a pitch for eBay that I could have done without but doesn't really suggest any other sources. I kept hoping it would get better, but it never did. Total waste of money and time. That's what I get for not reading customer reviews.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not that impressive... December 29, 2013

No pictures used to complement the discussion of beads, clasps or tool. No explanation on "how to" techniques to make a basic necklace, bracelet or earring.

2.0 out of 5 stars More detail April 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This book needs more detail. A bit too simplistic, even for beginners. Was hoping for more and was let down.
