It doesn't get better than the original,

This is an essential help for picking up the subtleties of Josephus' writings. The translation is somewhat easier to follow than Whiston's, though more importantly includes copious footnotes spanning grammar and lexicon, culture, contemporary history, etc. Naturally, there is translation bias but this is made plain in the introduction.This is well worth the price, especially as a companion copy to Mason's "Josephus and the New Testament", whether or not one also references the Whiston.
