This review is from: Jewish Fairy Tales (Dover Children's Thrift Classics) (Paperback)
I was very pleasantly surprised by this little book. IT is a lovely collection of traditional Jewish folk tales. I bought it for a little gift for a child, expecting it to be aimed for little kids (based on the number of pages and the fact that it is in the Dover children's collection). I really enjoyed reading the stories myself. I found them very thought provoking. I especially liked the first story in the book about the poor man who wants to bring an offering for the temple in Jerusalem. I found it really beautiful. The child I intended the book for, also enjoyed it very much and I wound up buying a second copy for them so that I could keep this one myself.
