The books in this series of 12 titles explore the history of U.S. immigration by Africans, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and Jewish immigrants .Readers learn the reasons why the Jews left their homelands to start a new life in America. The book follows their journeys through time lines and maps. The title under review gives a succinct but thorough history of early Jewish life, religion, and the history of anti-Semitism during and after the journey to America.

The book has many interesting and useful features, such as historical photos and illustrations, maps of immigration routes, crafts and recipe ideas, sidebars and quotations from diaries and other primary sources.
