This book is for all those who've spent hours in service wondering just how it all came together. To the untrained eye, certain parts seem older than others. The wonderful thing about this book -- written by a Hebrew Union College rabbi -- is that it answers those questions, giving glimpses as to just how the modern Jewish liturgy came to be. It is the story of how the story is told and it's a first rate book.
