4.0 out of 5 stars Great book documenting a great building, April 9, 2000
This review is from: Jewish Museum Berlin (Paperback)
This book is basically in two sections. The first section is mostly an informative interview with Daniel Libeskind, which provides great insight into his theories of architecture. The second part is a beautiful photographic essay by Helen Binet. The book could use more things to read and intertwine the photos amongst the entire book, rather than nearly separating the two. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Libeskind's archiecture. Maybe sometime down the road we'll see a great collection of Libeskind's complete works.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tired, Gimmicky Building, May 7, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Jewish Museum Berlin (Paperback)
Unusual building - yes. Good building - No. Libeskind has been something of a fad for a while now, but we've seen his stuff and it doesn't rate in the long haul. This gimmicky structure, with all its flaws and dumb theoretical ideas is really no more than a sculptural monument to Libeskind himself. I can think of no better way to dishonor the fallen Jews than this selfish and vulgar building. And when a few more years have passed, it will come to be seen as silly as a Britney Spears pop song.
