The Jewish Trinity and Sourcebook are Rosetta Stones to OT,

This review is from: The Jewish Trinity (Paperback)
"The Jewish Trinity" and "The Jewish Trinity Sourcebook" are not just books. They are epoch-making works of genius. Gravity was always there, but it took a Newton to discover it. Lightning was always electrical. It took a Franklin to recognize it, and a Steinmetz to tame it, and an Edison to light up our lives with it.The fact is now indisputable that the Jews in Jesus' day believed in the Triune God. The proof was always there in the Bible. Many theologians even suspected it. But it took Yoel Natan to dig it out and prove it beyond dispute. These two volumes are not just tomes that will collect dust. These are going to be textbooks in a thousand seminaries that are interested in evangelism among the Jews, the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses and even Muslims. The volumes are priceless and indispensable. The world has been waiting for these volumes for two thousand years and didn't know it--just as the world waited for electric light and didn't know it. Yoel Natan has brought to light the fact that our Hebrew forebears understood and worshipped the Holy Trinity as clearly as the writers of the Apostles' Creed and almost as clearly as the authors of the Nicene. The Jewish Trinity and The Jewish Trinity Sourcebook are the Rosetta Stone to the Old Testament. All the evidence has been there staring us in the face for two millennia. Perhaps it is because this information is so desperately needed in our times that it has taken until now to search it out. Roswell T. Bonovitz, Professor Emeritus, Biblical Languages

Scholars like to say that the Trinity is not found in the Old Testament, or there are only hints of the Trinity in the Old Testament. Yoel Natan, however, shows that the Old Testament has many, many proofs for the Trinity, and is, in fact, a Trinitarian book from start to finish.Yoel Natan's Web site lists Yoel's other books: "The Jewish Trinity Sourcebook: Trinitarian Readings from the Old Testament," and "Moon-o-theism" book on Mideast Moon god religions. There is also a link to an EZBoard.com discussion group. Here is the Table of Contents for The Jewish Trinity: Enjoy! Be edified!

Wisconsin Lutheran Quarterly, Vol. 101, Number 4, Fall 2004, Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Professor John P. Hartwig, Book Review Editor, Book Review by Professor John F. Brug, PhD, 1984, U of Minnesota, Semitic Languages and Archaeology__Despite conventional wisdom that the Old Testament only hints at distinct persons of Yahweh, the premise of this book holds that it is, in fact, as explicit about the Trinity and the deity of the Messiah as is the New Testament. Moses and the other writers of the Old Testament wrote strikingly and often about the Trinity and the deity of the Messiah. __Trinity in the Old Testament. He includes many more passages than those traditionally cited in connection with this topic. Among the lines of evidence considered are the plural references to the Trinity, collective nouns, and special names such as the Angel of the Lord, Spirit, Panim, etc. Evidence is also arranged as presented by individual authors or sections of the Old Testament. Natan refutes those who deny that the Trinity is found in the Old Testament and deals with the issue of whether the Masoretes may have minimized some of the evidence pointing to the Trinity in the Old Testament. The New Testament usage of the Old Testament Trinitarian passages is also summarized. __Natan presents a massive amount of evidence for his case. I did not find all of it to be persuasive, for example, his belief that Panim is a true plural "Presences" and refers to both the Son and the Spirit. It seems more likely that Panim in its various forms refers to the Spirit, even in passages in which they stand in relationship of poetic parallelism with each other. But even if one questions a number of his arguments, a huge amount of evidence for his case remains. __Interesting side discussions cover topics such as whether Jesus' trial was conducted in Greek or Aramaic and the proportionate use of Aramaic, Hebrew, Latin, and Greek in Israel. __Though presenting a very complex argument with many lines of evidence, the volume is relatively user-friendly since synopses are provided for each chapter, and evidence is presented both in individual chapters and in topical appendices. Since Natan is speaking from a perspective of Messianic Judaism [Yoel Natan note: or rather "writes in a Messianic Jewish-friendly style"], Jesus is regularly referred to as Yeshua. In the section on the Presences of Yahweh, Natan does present the Lutheran doctrine of the real presence of Christ in the Lord's Supper. He has a high view of the inspiration and authority of Scripture. __This book is a very comprehensive argument for the recognition of the Trinity in the Old Testament. Professor John F. Brug, PhD, 1984, U of Minnesota, Semitic Languages and Archaeology

Much needed response,
This review is from: The Jewish Trinity (Paperback)
With United Pentecostalism and so many anti-Trinitarian groups on the rise, this book is needed now more than ever. It is always assumed by such groups that the Trinity was a creation by councils beginning in the third century and then adopted. Mr. Natan shows convincingly from the Hebrew the truthfulness of Jesus' words in John 5:39. As a Lutheran pastor I would recommend this book to all Christian clergy and laity alike who desire a deeper understanding of the Trinity. This book would also be a great gift to someone who has bought into the anti-Trinitarian arguments thinking that it was a creation of the post-apostolic church. Although I have numerous books in my library that show the doctrine of the Trinity to be faithful to Scripture this is the first book that actually examines this belief on the basis of the Old Testament. This is a MUST READ! Highly recommended.

Natan Clearly Points Out Christ in the Old Testament,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Jewish Trinity (Paperback)
I just read "The Jewish Trinity" by Yoel Natan and think it's very exciting. It reminds me of John 5:39b "These are the Scriptures that testify about me." The whole Old Testament is about Jesus, and Natan brings this out so clearly in his books. His book shows that the references to Christ in the Old Testament are legion. He points out that it is no surprise that the apostles in Jesus' day were so willing to accept Jesus as the Son of God. They were used to thinking about plural persons from reading their Scriptures. Yoel Natan shows that the Greek and Hebrew words used in the Old Testament Scriptures at Jesus' time clearly testify about the Father, Son and Spirit--three persons, one God. Be sure to visit Yoel Natan's website. It gives more information on his books: The Jewish Trinity, The Jewish Trinity Sourcebook, and Moon-o-theism.

I ALONE AM GOD says OT...so where was TRINITY revealed??,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Jewish Trinity (Hardcover)
I "ALONE" AM God says the OT...so where was TRINITY revealed??I've long been questioning the origin of many of the foundational beliefs of my Christian faith and so strongly desire a much better understanding of Judaism as I know that is where the answers exist. This book seems to be exactly what I'd been seeking. I LOVE the detail and actually, because it *is* so detailed, I find myself looking up passage after passage. While this will be time consuming to complete, I'm positive it will be very rewarding and help tremendously in deepening my love and roots in the Christian faith. What a privilege it is to have something like this to turn to when I feel my faith is being questioned - by myself or others. It is a place where I can get sound, well researched answers, all scripturally based. This is such a comfort that I know it must be divinely inspired! I can almost feel the hand of God on my shoulder guiding me as I explore each passage of His Love Letter to us (the Holy Scriptures) thereby confirming the truth that this book reveals. This surely bears fruit and as I've described, from my experience, the Comforter's touch is undeniable!

Not an honest inquiry,

This review is from: The Jewish Trinity (Hardcover)
This book does not pretend to be an investigation into linguistics or history. It is a religious tract written by a person of deep beliefs, asserting opinions to forcefully argue his beliefs. It is worthwhile visiting the author's website, easily googled, which describes his goals and covers his arguments on other "scientific" matters, like creationism. If you have already decided that Jewish scriptures refer to the trinity, and want to argue the point, you will find this book handy as ammunition. If you want to find out _whether_ there is a factual basis for finding the trinity in Jewish scripture, you'll need to look elsewhere.

Natan's Book Is a Real Eye-Opener!,

This review is from: The Jewish Trinity (Hardcover)
Yoel Natan's "The Jewish Trinity" provides a seamless and convincing argument that the Christian faith in the Trinity and the deity of Christ goes back well beyond Jesus' earthly time to the creation and the Book of Genesis. A must-read for anyone interested in matters of faith.

Jewish Trinity Reveals Vast Old Testament Trinity Proofs,
By
This review is from: The Jewish Trinity (Hardcover)
The Jewish Trinity is a must-have book for doing serious research into the origin of the concept of the Trinity - that there is one God yet three equal persons of God. Yoel shows overwhelming and convincing evidence from the books of the Bible that not only Christians believed in a Trinitarian God, but the ancient Hebrews did as well. Yoel starts the book with what is perhaps the best evidence for a "Jewish" Trinity. For example, the author shows how the plural forms of God, such as the Hebrew words "Elohim" and "haElohim" are used literally thousands of times in the ancient texts of the Jews. Readers of the Bible or the Torah using the most common modern translations and having no background in Hebrew or Greek will find Natan's book eye-openning and thought provoking. The book is not a fast read, as it contains much information and proofs, so do not expect to read this one in one day! Overall, this was a good book!
