5.0 out of 5 stars Essential For anyone seeking greater understanding of the women's role in Judaism, September 4, 2005

This review is from: Jewish Woman in Jewish Law (Paperback)
Good opinions start with good facts and Rabbi Meiselman has done a masterful job collecting the facts about the role of the woman in Judaism. Be prepared to toss out some stereotypes because this book really clears up the mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strict, March 1, 2005
This review is from: Jewish Woman in Jewish Law (Paperback)
This is a consideration of the woman's role and status as defined by Halachah. It is possible to learn much from this work about the traditional view. It does not have however the kind of openness in response to questions of changing status due to developments in modernity that for instance the work of Rabbi Eliezer Berkovits has on the same subject.
