Amazing how few reviews this has gotten? Not a bit.,

Jibbs brings us Jibbs Feat Jibbs. One may wonder if Jibbs is presenting us another artist named Jibbs, who happens to have a partner in rhyme also coincidentally named Jibbs; at the very least, that'd be interesting. More interesting than Jibbs' psuedo-eponymous debut.
He's from St. Louis, so already, he's going to draw immediate comparisons to Nelly and Chingy. That's kinda unfair to compare him to both of those artists, however; Nelly, at least, has a polished flow, and as for Chingy, he's at least slightly interesting, if only for his annoying qualities. He at least has a personality; Jibbs is like a clone of these two evils, with less personality, less experience, and amazingly, less talent. If you loved Chain Hang Low, then you're probably not going to like this review. I'm sorry, but I call artists as I see them. Although Chain Hang Low is catchy in its simplicity, it's only one of two intriguing songs on this album(the other being King Kong, if only for Chamillionaire's guest appearance, and the Screwed-up hook), while the rest of this album falls well below the line of mediocrity. Download those two tracks if you must, but leave this on the shelves with the rest of the garbage.

I remember that when I first heard "Chain Hang Low", I thought it was annoying for two reasons: 1) it uses the music from the kiddie song "Do Your Ears Hang Low" (or as I like to call it, the ice cream truck theme song -- at least, here in Milwaukee) and 2) it's another one of those rap songs with a chorus sung by kids (in R&B songs that sounds all right, but in rap songs it never works). Still, I decided to check out 16-year-old Jibbs and his album, Jibbs featuring Jibbs (whatever THAT'S supposed to mean).
Actually, maybe that's supposed to refer to some sort of alter-ego, because Jibbs' voice sounds completely different on every song on here. And while none of the songs are really TERRIBLE, they're really nothing to write home about either. To be honest, this album sounds like Jibbs made it in a week. The first four songs just have him talking about his bling; and some songs make no sense at all, particularly "I'm a Rhino" and the Chamillionaire-assisted "King Kong". Jibbs also has a habit of boringly using similes; the lowest point of which is "Bring It Back", when telling a girl to dance, he instructs: "It's time for you to hit a home run like a bat". Did we really need the "like a bat" part? Was someone having trouble understanding what he meant? Anyway, that song is passable, but another song in the same vein, "Go Gurl", is pretty average. One interesting thing about this album is the lack of profanity: there's only about one "n" or "b" word to be found (although the latter refers to a guy). This is probably in keeping with his age, which might also explain the hard-to-get-into abstinence ode "Go Too Far", which is an update of Janet Jackson's "Let's Wait Awhile" featuring Melody Thornton of the Pussycat Dolls (you know, the black one; I say that because most people probably don't know the names of any of the girls not named Nicole Scherzinger). Right now, it's too soon to say whether or not Jibbs will have a lasting run in the rap game. Considering this album came out in October and this is only the sixth review for it, most people would probably say no, but we'll just have to wait and see what the future holds (if there IS one). Jibbs featuring Jibbs in my opinion...,

I have just started listening to rap recently, I used to be a punk rocker, and from what i've heard this CD is above par compared to the stuff Fat Joe and other rappers are making. I originally bought the CD so I could listen to Chain Hang Low and King Kong, but I've grown to like other songs on it such as Fire Az That Thang and Smile. I will admit the wannabe slow songs out suck and the songs Yeah Boi and Go Gurl are a little annoying i would say this is an overall decent CD.

Again with this?,

I told you, you can't bring SNAFS down.
Jibbs? What the _________ kind of name is that? YOu th ought Chingy was a horrible name? Try Jibbs. It makes Nelly look like The Beatles (name-wise). Worse, this idiot can't rap, and the only way to make a good chorus is to rip it off of, Do you ears hang low? When I heard this, I though it was a sick joke, but this guy thinks he's making music! Comedy at it's finest! Don't bother, anybody named Jibbs isn't worth this time. ALso, the music is _____ to, that is what matters the most. And it is grade-A ____. -/10

Why am I not surprised that we have a top 500 reviewer giving a 3 star review to a one star album? Okay instead of me saying that Jibbs sucks I'll let my boy Jibbs prove my point for me. Examples /Ah my name is Jibbs but they call mighty trump/ the kid down a house with an outerspace flow/ stay waved up poking madden with the flow/Jag chillin in the back with girls holla at a chump/(????!!!???) /And Im the hottest come on keep it on the low/ and they mad cause I riot and I fly like a crow/(LOL!) /you get the rapping and acting and try to make it a habit/ but tricks aint for silly rabbit/(HUH?) /flawless style that will make you shake/girls cry me river like Timberlake/(Im pretty sure those are tears of hard laughter after hearing your bad rhyming)/ Im living in cribs, while your dreaming in cribs/ so all you big babies can keep on your bibs/(LMAO!!!). Should I continue? Jibbs has personality but he cant rap for s***! How can you read those rhymes with a straight face and say he's dope with a straight face afterwards? His first single Chain Hang Low(which stinks!) ripped of the old kiddie jingle Do You Ears Hang Low and that is the dumbest beat I've heard in a while. The second single, King Kong with Chamillionaire sucks and even Chamillionaire lays an egg : Count this cheese like a deli(CORNY!). He rips pages out of 50 and Ja Rule's love book with Go Too Far with Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls fame as the song deliberately samples Janet Jackson's Lets Wait Awhile(Now thats gangsta....sike!). Im A Rhino is just as weak and what kind of a hook is that? /You A gold digging(oh)/ I aint messin wit(oh)/ cause Im a rhino/Im a rhino/(RIIIIIGHT). More disposables Yeah Boi, Big Big Kid, Firr Az That Thang(?), Hood , Bring It Back etc. Bottom Line: Jibbs featuring Jibbs is easily one of the worst releases in 2006. Monotonous beats and K-Fed style lyrics that will having you riving in painful laughter. I havent laughed this hard since I seen that prison documentary Scared Straight.

This one should. Most of the tracks on this album are lacking. Jibbs had something with the Chain hang low song but I don't know what happened to the rest of the album. Download the song off i-tunes if you like it and leave the CD at the store. One hitta-quitta right here.

Songs are catchy, but not amazing,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Jibbs Feat Jibbs (Audio CD)
Jibbs has created an album of very catchy songs, but none of his songs seem to actually capture any profound or actually new message. The most introspective song on the album was Hood, but it didn't actually present a new idea in rap and that is what the world is waiting for. I mean to say that the world is waiting for one rapper to truly take over the industry because of his (or her) message, not because the beat is catchy. The closest to this in a while was Kanye West, but he has not produced anything new for a while. Also such rappers as Lupe Fiasco and Common Sense try to appeal to an audience that listens more to content than sound, but they both seem to be in Kanye's shadow. T.I. released his King album a while ago, and it was an instant hit, as it brought back a very arrogant attitude in rap and combined it with amazing beats. But, his album, like Jibbs' album, lacked any content that really seperated it from the rest of the rappers nowadays. Hopefully as Jibbs grows up and matures, he'll be able to combine his amazing freestyle talent with a profound message and still maintain the catchiness of his songs. If he does this, he will undoubtably be the best rapper of today. (kids reviews are fun, you can post anything you want and you don't have to give any information to Amazon)
