Let me start by saying that my only problem with the bag has nothing to do with its quality. It is well-made, with thoughtful design.

I can fit my D300 with 16-85 lens attached in it, with room to spare for another smaller lens. There's also room for personal items, such as a pair of sunglasses, and the detachable purse eliminates the need for a separate...

3.0 out of 5 stars Stylish but Heavy
This bag is so cute. It's hard finding a camera bag out there that's fun yet functional. I wanted a bag to hold my camera body, 1 short & 1 long lens, a flash, cords, batteries, and chargers. This bag has that room, plus more space. But the bag's heavy when empty so only got heavier when loaded, putting a lot of weight on the arm/shoulder carrying the bag. I tried...

Let me start by saying that my only problem with the bag has nothing to do with its quality. It is well-made, with thoughtful design.

I can fit my D300 with 16-85 lens attached in it, with room to spare for another smaller lens. There's also room for personal items, such as a pair of sunglasses, and the detachable purse eliminates the need for a separate bag, unless you have a lot of stuff.

The problem is, the bag I received does not match what is shown in the product photo. The tethered purse is not all leather as in the picture; it has red leather in the corners, but is made up of the same light material that makes up the interior of the camera bag. I can only envision a few months from now how dirty it will become. An all-leather pouch - as shown in the photo - would be much more durable and stain-resistant.

Also, the shoulder strap is not padded as shown in the photo, although it does have a nice suede backing where it rests on your shoulder. But padded, it's not.

I emailed Adorama's customer service department, and they basically said their hands were tied. They use the product photos that are supplied by the manufacturer (Jill.e). I can understand that.

Adorama gave me the option of returning the bag, but I thought the benefits of the bag far outweighed my disappointment. I would (and have) done business with Adorama since. Their shipping is fast and their pricing is fair.

I have to say, I am annoyed with Jill.e's customer service. I emailed them about the above concerns, and never received a response. I understand that email sometimes gets "lost", so I called their customer service line a few times during the hours that they are supposedly on-call, but always got a recording.

All-in-all, I would buy the bag again. I just wanted to make you aware of the product photo discrepancy in case those details are important to you, as they are to me.

I just bought this wonderful jill-e bag (Brown/Bone color) (small size) from Amazon.. and it was great! I like the fact that I can choose when should I receive the package and it has a very reasonable shipping prices and + it's discounted! This video will show you how beautiful this bag is. I can't wait to put my Nikon d90 and other accessories in to it! I am very very happy :] I recommend this to the female photographers out there. You will also feel the satisfaction I have right now. :D

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it. Love it. Love it., April 3, 2008

This bag is phenomenal - much better and bigger in person than the pictures suggest. I should have bought it months ago! I have one of those giant Lowepro backpack bags for storing my gear in the closet and was looking for a bag to carry my D300 and 70-200mm, a long lens on a big camera. It is hard to find a bag that can fit a long combo like that, let alone be stylish (which wasn't even my first priority). With this bag, it fits perfectly with room for a flash and a few other doodads. It will even fit this combo with a teleconverter attached. They really should change the name of bag from small to regular or something like that because this is truly not a small bag like my Slingshot (which really doesn't fit the D300 with any lens at all).
The quality is superb. Even my husband, who could care less about bags and purses, came over to check it out and was impressed. I love the magnetic snaps and the little detachable purse. It even rivals my favorite brand, Coach. In fact, if Coach was the one selling this bag, I could easily see it selling for $400-$500. I ordered it from Green Mountain Camera through Amazon. The bag came in 2 days, perfectly packaged in recyclable materials too. All in all, I'm thrilled - function and beauty, at a great price no less. What more can a girl want? I am now an official Jill.e convert.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite camera bag ever, February 5, 2008
This review is from: Jill-e 769374 Camera Leather Bag Small (Bone) (Electronics)
My husband bought me the large black rolling bag for my birthday. I loved it so much, I ordered the small leather version in "bone" that very same day. Finally an everyday camera bag / purse that doesn't look like a messenger or diaper bag! I can fit my D200 body with 50mm, SB-600, flash cards, lens caps, camera batteries, 2 cell phones, iPod, credit card case, business card case, two checkbooks, hard sunglass case, pockets full of "mommy" items, a couple of Pull-Ups and still have room to spare. The attached pouch holds my make-up and AA battery stash. The edges and dividers are well-padded to protect your gear.

When I was at Imaging USA recently I stopped by the Jill-e booth and opened my small bag to show a friend who was considering one just how much they held. Two other photographers peered over my shoulder and bought them on the spot as well -- I "sold" three in under 5 minutes just by unzipping mine. After walking like a hunchback with my Crumper 7 Million for a couple of years, there just isn't enough space to type how much I adore my Jill-e bags!

5.0 out of 5 stars what a find!, April 24, 2008
I have to admit ... I have a thing for red leather. That's what attracted me to this bag, and I took it home to see if my gear fit, fully expecting to have to return it the next day. Boy ... was I surprised! My D300, complete with battery grip and 80 - 400 VR (a huge combo if ever there was one) fit perfectly, along with my brand new Tokina 12 -24, also a big lens. But the biggest surprise was when I put the 12 -24 on my D50, and manged to fit that combo into the bag as well, right along side the D300/80-400 combo.

I am very impressed. The only suggestion I would make would be to make the end pockets just a little bit fuller ... otherwise this is the perfect bag, and stylish to boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful,just what I was looking for, December 21, 2008

This review is from: Jill-e 769374 Camera Leather Bag Small (Bone) (Electronics)
The small Jill.E leather bag was exactly what I was looking for! The bag holds my canon rebel xti with 18-55 lens attached, my canon 55-250 lens with hood on backwards, and my canon HF100 camcorder. There should still be room enough for the 430 exII flash when I purchase that. It is very roomy. The difference between the small and medium bags are that the medium bag is about 1 1/2" > in height, and 1" > in width.
Prior to purchasing the bag, I had purchased and returned the lowepro flipside 300, and a kata 465 back pack. The lowepro flipside was a great bag, but too big and bulky for my needs. I took it to a wedding, and people were wondering what was in my huge black backpack. The kata bag was uncomfortable around my clavicle bones. It was light, but big and not practical for my needs. There didn't seem to be that much padding for your equipment in the Kata 465.
I found that in general, most bags are "made" with a man's body frame in mind and are on the bigger side for an average woman.
Photography is a hobby and I take pictures mostly of my family, kids, and nature. The Jill.e bag is perfect. It's well made througout. The interior sections are velcro and can be adjusted to fit your needs. Plenty of room in the outside pockets and the mesh pockets on the top of the bag for the smaller stuff like battery charger, CF cards, lens caps. You can get to all your equipment inside the bag and pockets quickly and easily. This bag looks like a well made leather pocket book. I have been able to fit my camera with my 55-250 lens attached. The only thing with the bag is that it is on the heavier side, but you can attach the shoulder strap, and it's comfortable to carry. I've had the bag now for about 3 weeks and am finally satisfied with what I have purchased. I highly recommend this bag to anyone who is considering it.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this bag!, August 4, 2008
I really hate black camera bags! There, I said it. For years, I have waited for a camera bag that wasn't black, camo or National Geographic canvas that held my equipment and wasn't too informal (read backpack or fanny pack-ish) to take to a wedding. Just when I was about to throw up my hands in despair, I found this bag and fell in love. It is the perfect bag! It holds my 20d with the lens on, 2 flash heads and omni-bounce diffusers, my 38-300mm zoom, Wolverine hard-drive, spare battery and charger, 4 spare CF cards in card safes, photovision target, lens cleaner and cloth, and light meter with the external pockets still available for my car keys and other personal items AND it looks sleek, stylish and professional at the same time! Everything is easy to access, too. When I reach a point where I need more space, I already have my next Jill-e bag picked out. They have me for life!

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome great looking camera bag, November 3, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jill-e 769374 Camera Leather Bag Small (Bone) (Electronics)
I searched high and low for a camera bag that was not ugly and black that I could fit all my camera equipment in. I found it with this bag. It is stylish and large enough to carry my camera, lens, and camcorder, and I still have room left for my bag of candy. I did not expect it to be as big as it was but I am happy because I have plans on buying a larger lens and I know that I will have no problem fitting it into my bag with all my other equipment. Yes it was expensive but it seems to be of good quality and as long as it last for a long time it will be worth the money. Especially on plane trips when I can carry it as my purse and still have a separate carry on for my laptop and books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, July 7, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jill-e 769374 Camera Leather Bag Small (Bone) (Electronics)
Everything the eight other reviewers before me wrote is spot on. This is an excellent camera bag! The video review here on Amazon was very helpful.

I can fit my Nikon D5000 with 18-105mm lens, 35mm lens, Nikon SB-26 external flash, batteries ... even can carry my second camera, the Fuji S100fs! Re-chargers for both cameras could fit if I had to bring them on a trip. And I haven't even put anything in the side pockets! Those I'll save for personal items when I want to leave my purse at home.

Really love the double-zipper pull to open the bag wide. I had this type on an old video camera bag and knew it was a great design. Much more convenient than the flap over top with plastic locking buckels and single-zipper closures.

To top it off this is one GORGEOUS, well crafted bag! Well worth the money.

I also ordered the jill-e "spudz" micro-fiber cleaning cloth that stays attached to the inside storage pouch and has a snap hook to clip inside or outside of bag. The jill-e spudz wasn't sold on Amazon so I bought it on the jill-e site. Later saw that there are other spudz design cleaning clothes available here.

4.0 out of 5 stars a great bag!, March 2, 2009
This is the perfect bag if you love to bring your camera with you everywhere but also want to be stylish. People think it's a purse when I use it...which is all the time! It's also a great quality bag...except for the handles. They are obviously made of something completely different than the rest of the bag. But that's my only complaint. I love the bag!
