During one of the toughest times in my life, a friend of mine brought me this book. The divorce of me and my husband was breaking me up inside and effecting the behavior of my children. The way the author explains the trials & tribulations of this experience and executes it in a way that it is very relatable.

I would recommend it to anyone who is dealing with a family separation of any kind- women, men or even breakups or trial separations - dealing with children reactions,etc.

As a therapist I appreciate the thoughtful, sentient writing that Michele Germain uses. Her approach conveys a deep sense of respect for the reader and herself. The somatic exercises set it apart from other books on the same topic. It gives the reader hands on techniques that one would need in a the crisis of a breakup. I enjoyed this book both personally and professionally and would recommend it as a resource for clients as well as a sincere help in going through the breakup of any relationship.

I was in the middle of a horrendous divorce when I found this book. It saved me from even more trauma and suffering. The author is an expert in divorce and breakups, deeply undertands this process, and conveys an abiding empathy for those going through this ordeal. She communicates in an accessible, clear style that I found to be informative, hopeful and comforting. Ms. Germain speaks from vast professional clinical experience as well as her own personal story. Her authenticity permeates the book. The exercises she provides have been very helpful to my mind, psyche and body. As I read, I felt like a friend was sitting next to me, explaining the process I was going through, how to face it, the steps to take in grieving the loss, how to reclaim my idenity and move forward with my life on every level: body, mind and spirit. I highly recommend this healing book.
