At 26 years old and nearly six feet tall, I should be a shapely Amazon of a gal, but I'm not. A lack of portion control on my part and a full time job reviewing video games has lead to a physique that's not only unflattering, but unhealthy.

Over the course of months of exercise using Jillian's DVDs, I lost weight DRAMATICALLY. (To give you an idea, I went from a size 28 down to a size 16. Keep in mind I'm six foot tall here.) There was no magic, no bull, just hard work, encouragement, and inspiration. The thing about Jillian is that while she's earned and deserves her reputation for being a tough trainer, she's not an unpleasant one. There's just something about her I respond well to; she's firm but fair during her workouts, and her enthusiasm for what she's doing is infectious.

Unfortunately, late last year, in addition to getting complacent, my husband and I were also hammered by weeks where nothing seemed to go right and we had to deal with one calamity after another... a burst water main, our car breaking down (repeatedly), the declining health of a family member... it just went on and on, and long story short, I fell into depression and packed nearly all the weight back on. (I was back to a size 22.) To say I was embarrassed was an understatement; I felt ashamed of myself, that I had let not only myself but my husband down, and instead of getting back on ye olde proverbial horse, I just made things worse.

Four weeks ago I had enough. For four weeks solid, I have done an hour of exercise every day (30 Day Shred and 6 Week Six Pack) and I've already lost over twenty pounds. That was the worst part; getting back on the scale for the first time in months and seeing how far I'd let myself go. The work is hard, but I feel better than I have in years...

While I loved her most recent workouts (Yoga Meltdown and Shred it with Weights), they were very different in terms of her traditional style. 6 Week Six-Pack reminds me exactly why I started doing her workouts in the first place. It is very reminiscent of 30-Day Shred and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, with a mix of traditional exercises and some I've never seen before. She blends weight training and cardio exercises, all of which focus on the abs in this case. She explains why crunches alone don't work--you must blast off the fat over your abs with cardio in order for them to show. You never stop moving in this DVD, and you'll start to sweat quickly. It's only about 35 minutes, so it's definitely easy to fit in regardless of your daily schedule. If you want a quick but hardcore way to get ripped, this is it!

I'm still on level one. I don't like how it's level one and two. There should be a transition for level two. Reason why is because level one is doable. Yes I felt sore but it went away after a week and the moves didn't seem so bad. After the 3rd week you go to level two. I watched it first to see how it was, it looked tough! I tried some moves from level two, and yes indeed it was hard!! It went from doable to crazy hard (at least for me).
Been doing level 1 for 5 weeks, I see some change but not much. I've only lost 4 pounds in those 5 weeks and I cut junk food. I'm going to start running more, I wouldn't depend your workouts solely on this. May work with additional workouts (running, other julian videos) and a healthy diet. my tummy does look smaller but I expected more. Time to diet and add another workout video or routine.
(Added photo first one is before the right one is after, I've lost about an inch in 5 weeks, eh not too impressed but I will continue to do level one until I feel comfortable with level two)..

I'm 43 with two kids.... my mid section is the only place I am unhappy with and this 6 wk six pack work out clearly made me sweat - no blood but tears for sure! I'm on my way only 4 more weeks to go - I'll check back with a total view of how and if it shreds the waist line... I'll be hooked for life if it does!

Please note I copied a review I wrote on the UK site 2 weeks ago here. As it stands, I can't stop prising Jillian.

I never wrote a review, but feel like this time I really have to.

I've been trying to lose weight for years and years. The last 5 kilos... you know they say the last few kilos to lose are the hardest. I tried everything - gym, personal trainer, classes, running, swimming, Carol Vonderman detox, doing 400 abs exercise on daily basis, Tracy Anderson abs, slimming tablets, kelp, chlorella, Udos Choice Ultimate Oil Blend, protein drinks... you name it. But nothing really worked! (well the personal trainer was great, but expensive and time consuming - as soon as I stopped the weight piled back up. Also I believe the detox was great but I already eat healthy and drink 3 litres of water every day, so not much of a difference for me after following it for 28 days)

Anyway I came across to this DVD and boy oh boy! Jillian suggested to work out 5x a week. I thought no way I could do that as I was still running 2-3x a week and swimming 2x a week.

But after just ONE week of doing this DVD I lost 1.5 kilos and 6 cm of my belly! Unheard of! I cannot believe it and am sooo happy! Losing the stubborn weight actually makes me want to work out and do the DVD every day.
I dropped the running and swimming to 1x a week, and doing the DVD instead. I can't wait to get to the end of week 6.

But don't get me wrong - it is hard work! Very hard work. Takes only 30 minutes which is a comfortable lenght, but you def feel every minute of it and wish for it to end and gasp for drink of water.

It has two levels - I started on level two simply because I thought I could deal with it. Done so much in the past so should be ok - or so I thought.
