Book Description

Harlequin Blaze January 1, 2007

When his chef eloped with the masseuse, Captain Jack McCullough knew he'd have to pitch in to keep his four-star yacht afloat. Too bad he didn't know one end of the galley from the other, but he did have the looks, the charm and...the jilted bride?

Dodging caterers' bills instead of confetti, jobless Chloe Winton did what every suddenly-single woman should. She talked herself into taking the week-long honeymoon cruise her former fiancé had paid for. (Yes--for the whole week!) But when she meets the hot, sexy--do-gooding--captain, she's not sure the six days and seven nights will be enough!

More About the Author

A few random facts about me:

I am a fiction addict.

I love J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts, Jim Butcher, J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood, Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter, Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, Stephen King, Jennifer Crusie, Marian Keyes, J.K. Rowling, and a slew of other authors.

I have been known to stay up all night to finish a new novel. I don't so much read as devour.

I am an out of the closet foodie.

People who follow me on Facebook can attest: I am a foodie-blog whore. Love Smitten Kitchen. Adore Pioneer Woman Cooks. Bake my own bread on a weekly basis (because the recipe is so frickin' easy, a chimp could do it -- and it tastes phenomenal. I am a walking infomercial for this bread. ) Total Top Chef freak.

I am a geekgirl.

I love the San Diego Comic-con, or "The Con" as they call it.

I was part of the SCA -- The Society for Creative Anachronism -- and briefly sponsored my own mini army. I learned to speak some Japanese from anime.

I have a near encyclopedic knowledge of character actors and obscure movies. I have been called to settle bar bets.

I have a more-flirtatious-than-appropriate relationship with Excel spreadsheets. When I used to work at a day job, if I wore lipstick they assumed I was going on an interview. To this day, an entire marketing department lives in fear of my memory.

I love being an author.

Love writing. Love promoting. Love everything about it. And I love hearing from readers. Email me, anytime, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

5.0 out of 5 stars Always delivers a great book!, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Jack & Jilted (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
The author never fails to develop interesting side characters as well as believable, real main characters in her books. Loved the premise for this one, and the theme, of someone breaking away from her normal life and daring to experience something new. But this isn't about one of your heiresses or socialites realizing themselves, but a real person, like your best friend or coworker. Enjoyed where most of the action takes place too--on a yacht for hire! And of course the chemistry is hot! Thanks for a great read! Her stories never disappoint.

4.0 out of 5 stars fine contemporary romance, January 13, 2007
This review is from: Jack & Jilted (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
Though he made much more money being an architect, personal assistant Chloe Winton agreed to split costs from their house to their marriage with her fiancé Gerald. He jilted her anyway insisting he found someone more compatible to his desires. Stunned and unable to face her family especially her mother and aunt, Chloe looks for an out.

Captain Jack McCullough is struggling to make his honeymoon yacht profitable when his chef Kenneth quits because he eloped. Still he has no time to obtain a cook as the bride has arrived for her honeymoon; though no groom is with her. Attracted to his client from the first time he sees her, Jack is ecstatic to learn she was jilted. As they become acquainted over a week at sea, they fall in love, but both have doubts as she is still rebounding.

Readers will feel for Chloe not so much because she was jilted though somewhat for that; more so because of the sympathy from family members who want to be nice to her. Jack also feels for the jilted bride, but part of what he sees is a courageous person moving on. Though a romantic relationship between them does not seem quite right as she still is rebounding and reeling, fans will enjoy this fine contemporary romance between two nice people.
