5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, June 8, 2008
By
This review is from: Jim Giraffe (Paperback)
I love this book, it's funny and brilliant. Be warned, it's very sexual. The protagonist is repressed and the giraffe is the opposite. I laughed out loud so many times.

This review is from: Jim Giraffe (Paperback)
A largely unheralded novel on this side of the big pond, penned by a Brit author with talent to burn. Scott Spectrum is a man going through the motions: he rarely touches his wife, barely notices anything outside his job as a writer for a popular series on the Science Fiction Channel. One night there's a commotion in Scott's closet and he discovers...a ghostly giraffe with the vocabulary of a drunken sailor. Jim Giraffe has apparently taken it upon himself to save Scott from his dead end existence. Their exchanges are hilarious and profane and JIM GIRAFFE takes on the guise of a perverse version of the old Jimmy Stewart film "Harvey". JIM GIRAFFE deserves a wider readership and Daren King, who also authored BOXY AN STAR, could well acquire a cult following. Remember his name...
