These are not the original recordings. They are however, very good remakes made apparently in the 1970's. Davis's voice is much lower and soulful than on the originals. The music is in good taste hear. Cheap packaging though. Very little notes. No info about the versions of the songs that are present. Go for his "Country Music Hall of Fame" on MCA or the Bear Family Boxed sets. There has to be a reissue of his hits in the near future.

Jimmie Davis has been a great performer, producing only top quality western and gospel music. His music will be available for all time for us to enjoy. All of his recordings are well worth purchasing for many years of enjoyment.

I AM LOOKING FOR A GOSPEL ALBUM THAT HE RECORDED MANY YEARS AGO. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE THIS CAN BE FOUND. I HAVE EXHAUSTED EVERY MEANS THAT I KNOW ARE POSSIBLE. JIMMIE DAVIS WAS THE GOVERNOR OF LOUISIANA FOR TWO TERMS AND I UNDERSTAND THAT HE IS STILL LIVING AND IS IN HIS MID TO UPPER 90"S. HE HAD THE GREATEST VOICE IN GOSPEL SINGING THAT I EVER HEARD. I KNOW THAT HE MADE A GOSPEL ALBUM MANY YEARS AGO, BECAUSEI OWNED IT, BUT WAS MISTAKELY BROKEN YEARS AGO. IF ANY ONE CAN HELP ME TO LOCATE THIS ALBUM YOUR EFFORTS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
