Jimmy Buffett: Scenes You Know By Heart

In 1985 Jimmy Buffett released his greatest hits album Songs that You Know by Heart. The disc went on to sell over 6 million copies wordwide and is a fan favorite. This year he released Scenes that You Know By Heart which features live video versions of the same songs from the album plus two newer bonus tracks ( Hey Good Lookin' and It's Five O'Clock Somewhere).

The cuts were taken from concerts in the United States, Anguilla and France and have been featured on several other videeos that Buffett has released over the years but this is not a real problem. The disc was originally sold as a Walmart exclusive and at a price of around $10 it is quite a bargain. The sound is an excellent 5.1 Stereo Surround mix and the video picture quality is excellent for the material.

If you are a fan this is a must have for your collection.

This is a nice compilation of live performances. Almost every song is pulled from a different concert and this DVD provides the viewer with a full-length 'sampler' of Jimmy Buffett live. Very nice. I'm glad I have it.

Since I have never been to Jimmy Buffett concert I found it great fun to see him perform live all of these songs that I know by heart. I prefer the older Jimmy to the younger, but it was still interesting to see some of the earlier works. But I also found the notes great as he explains why he choose the particular live version of each song.

I bought this DVD on Amazon for $11.98. Sure you know the songs. Sure they are old standbys. The songs are from many different places that I had never been nor probably will ever get to. If you love Jimmy you need this. If you like Jimmy Buffett you'll want this. If you don't know if you like him or not, buy this DVD and welcome to the fraternity of Parrotheads! You will see why he's been a fan favorite and selling out shows for decades.

It was almost like being on tour with Jimmy. Different songs from different shows in different cities. Parrot Heads of the World Unite! It creates a warm feeling of seeing old friends and of enjoying good times. I agree, much more enjoyable than 15 songs from the same show. This will be one of your favorites the first time you view it. Pour yourself a tall Margarita and enjoy !

Would much rather have a nice remastered DVD of "Live By The Bay". I hope it gets re-released soon because that was the perfect Buffett concert.

Disclaimer - I really like Buffett Music and especially live video. Granted this video is a collection of videos, some of which are on other DVDs, it is still great! I highly recommend it to those of us that love Buffett's music.

I wish each of the songs on the DVD was from a different venue. I already had the double-disc 'Live at Wrigley Field' concert(which is excellent); I didn't need THREE of the songs from that show again. And, I don't understand why Jimmy is so fond of Hank Williams. He could leave 'Hey, Good Lookin' off future discs as far as I'm concerned. All in all, this disc is nothing I couldn't have done without.
