This book is a GREAT read and well worth the time to experience all 550 plus pages!

From my Perspective: my connection with the Middle East in general and Iran more specifically, relates to my responsibilities for master planning, design and operating a city for 10,000 people North of Esfahan, Iran (the ancient capital of Persia). The entire program was a joint venture between a subsidiary of Bell Helicopter and the government of Iran initiated in 1976 and ending as the Shah left for Egypt in 1979. The purpose of the program was an initiative of the Shah of Iran to promote industrialization, provide technical jobs and training and improve the standard of living for the Iranian people.

The development of a commercial, as well as military helicopter industry, was predicated on the establishment of a major Iranian manufacturing facility (with a phased transitioning of the manufacture and assembly responsibilities), a technical training institute (providing necessary technical skills and management training) and a self-sufficient housing community (complete with American standard schools, medical facilities, public works, housing and retail/commercial/recreational facilities). The housing community was to be an incentive for the Iranian people to participate in this project. The community was master planned and designed to embrace and be sensitive to the Iranian culture while providing an improved quality of life.

Historical Perspective: this book represents a very concentrated (and recent) historical period - January, 1977 through January, 1981 - and benefited from extensive research and investigation of government (domestic and foreign) documents and data. The breath and depth of interviews, discussions and interactions between Mike Evans and major, as well as minor "players" of the period, lend credibility to the works. The book provides a linkage between ancient cultural/religious foundations and current structural socio/eco/political elements of the period with an alignment to the "potential" ramifications for the future of the Middle East.

Educational/Teaching Perspective: a thoroughly researched, factual and chronological reporting of the events of that period. Substantiation of the core précis with names (an informative glossary of names and brief biographical sketches), places and documentation (Chronology of Jimmy Carter's Presidency, Bibliography and Endnotes) are integrated into a cohesive and balanced report. The Shah and SAVAK were "called out" not just Yasser Arafat and Ayatollah Khomeini. This should be a useful and insightful textbook for the classroom which should stand the test of scrutiny.

Biographical Perspective: an important introduction to the major "players" participating in the dynamics of the Middle East during this period. The book depicted their multi-faceted, cross-cultural roles: an insight into their individualities as well as their roles, as players, on the international stage. It is important to understand and grasp how our actions molded and transformed (emboldened or neutered) these personalities and influenced US and world policy.

Religious Perspective: a genuine attempt to provide a balanced representation of the Jewish, Muslim and Christian influence and impact on the decision making (political, economical, social) during this period. It is also important to understand the confluence of these beliefs as a part of our future policy making decisions. This book is not subtle in its warnings if we fail to put them in perspective.

Political Perspective: a well researched, documented and articulated linkage and alignment of world government actions, inactions and interactions with policy decision making....revelations about the consequences of these decisions. The book reveals posturing and politicizing across different cultures, government mechanisms and religious beliefs.......perceptions and realities.

"Jimmy Carter: The Liberal Left and World Chaos - A Carter/Obama Plan That Will Not Work" exposes many of the "root causes" of our current dilemma in the Middle East. It's complex but Mike Evans has provided a clarity which allows us to investigate the cause and effect of all of these perspectives. It should be our resolve to use this book, and others, to provide focus and resolve not to make the same mistakes in the future.

It is my specific and intentional prayer that our new President will have the opportunity to read and take counsel from Mike's great work.

Mike Evans speaks the truth here. The failure of the Carter plan was so obvious during his time and is even more so now. The radical terrorists do not want peace, they want the desruction of Israel and will be satisfied with nothing less. It does not matter how much land they are given it does not appease them but only inflames their goal to wipe Israel of the map and then destroy the "great Satan America". Look at the last years. Have any of the concessions of Israel helped the violence? No, the more they gave concessions the worse they were attacked. Whether people like to admit it or not, when a nation or person supports Israel they are blessed by God and when they do things that hurt Israel, they are under a curse. Mike Evans was not the original one saying this, God himself said it time after time.

Jimmy Carter: The Liberal Left and World Chaos: A Carter/Obama Plan That Will Not Work I have read several of Dr. Evan's books and believe that he is telling the truth. Most liberals are naive about the implications of the Bush, now Carter/Obama plans to appease the terrorist regimes in the Middle East by giving more and more and more of the Israeli homeland away to their centuries old enemies, who in the words of Iran's terrorist president want to "push Isreal into the sea", and deny the historic facts of the holocaust.
Paraphrasing my seminary Biblical history professor, quoting an ancient source: "Isn't it odd that God chose the Jews. It's not odd at all, since the Jews chose God!" Amen!
It is time for everyone to stand up for the Jews. As a retired United Methodist Pastor, I choose to stand with Dr. Evans and the Jews and will give this new book to famiy members and friends and urge all readers to considerr doing the same.

Dr. Evans is exceptionally familiar with Middle East problems, and with Jimmy Carter's meddling in them. He nails Carter for the anti-semite and paid foreign agent that he is. Carter has taken huge donations from Middle East Muslims, and has sold out his country. Carter was the worst President of the U.S. in the 20th century, until Bill Clinton came along. Carter ordered the overthrow of the Shah of Iran, who was promptly replaced by a Muslim fanatic. Evans shows how Carter has ruined nearly everything he has touched, particularly in the Middle East. This is a must read book!

It was Jimmy Carter who opened the gates of hell with his disastrous Middle East policy in the 1970s, the consequences of which are gaining momentum by the day. Evans charts Carter's rise to the presidency, his failed foreign & domestic policies, his complicity in the Iranian revolution, the Camp David peace accords and his continued meddling in US foreign affairs. The book examines Carter's character and how the former advocate of human rights became a friend of and apologist for dictators around the globe. Furthermore, it warns that Carter's latest book proposes more of the same poison with policies that promote global chaos.

One must be on guard against shows of excessive piety. Much evil has been committed in the name of Christianity. The seemingly pious Carter has tried his utmost to undermine the presidencies of Reagan, Clinton & both Bushes. His smiling exterior is deceptive; there's much evidence of insincerity, malice & meanness in his personality. His previous book was filled with errors - all of them designed to put Israel in a bad light - and downright distortions, as detailed in Bearing False Witness: Jimmy Carter's Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid edited by Andrea Levin. An example of his bad judgment was his perception of the monstrous Ayatollah Khomeini as a saintly Gandhi-type figure.

Carter calls good evil & vice versa, he puts bitter for sweet and wrong for right. Perpetrators become victims and terrorists with openly stated genocidal aims are human rights movements to him. He has embraced Hamas & Hezbollah while his latest plan for the Middle East is the same old same old, yet another attempt to force Auschwitz borders on Israel & give half of the Holy City to terrorists. For years he has worked tirelessly for a USA betrayal of Israel and now he's pulling out all the stops to influence the Obama administration in this regard. The book The Globalisation of the Oldest Hatred by UK parliamentarian Denis MacShane provides a disturbing picture of the dangerous geopolitical trends that Carter is supporting.

Carter's campaign against Israel includes calumnies & false accusations about the security fence and the Jewish State's supposed `apartheid' society, championing homicide bombers as martyrs, endorsement of Hamas, Hezbollah & other terror groups, ignoring the murder of Israeli civilians and denying the Arab World's repeated calls for the destruction of Israel. He refuses to debate Alan Dershowitz on the issues. His Carter Centre is funded by petrodollars from the Middle East; when the extent of the distortions & propaganda in his notorious book became general knowledge, an exodus of senior staff took place. Mike Evans has brilliantly exposed Carter for what he is.

The book is meticulously researched and annotated; the five appendices are (a) a chronology of Carter's presidency (b) Middle East timeline 1978 - 1980 (c) map of the region (d) glossary of names (e) bibliography. There's also an Afterword on the future of the Liberal Left. That is what Carter is: a Leftist wearing the mask of a Christian. I also recommend The Real Jimmy Carter: How Our Worst Ex-President Undermines American Foreign Policy, Coddles Dictators and Created the Party of Clinton and Kerry by Steven F. Hayward and The Case Against Israel's Enemies: Exposing Jimmy Carter and Others Who Stand in the Way of Peace by Alan Dershowitz.

Following Jimmy Carter's fallacious book on the Middle East, this is a breath of fresh air, written by an objective observer of the events in that part of the world.

Thank God for Mr Mike Evans who speaks the truth about the dangerous plan Mr Carter brings out in his most recent book. Th Liberal left just does NOT GET IT. They are all so confused between the "good guys" and the "bad guys". Wait until one of their friends, the Terrorists, blow them up and maybe then they will appreciate the democratic, peace loving Israel.
Buy this book! It is important for the survival of not only Israel but the USA! Look at the violence sweeping our country from the Muslim people. look at Europe......Wake up Ameica before it is too late!

Jimmy Carter had to be one of the worst Presidents in our history. Now he wants to sell Israel down the river. The Lord God Almighty will not let that happen- as a previous reviewer noted- God will bless those that bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. This country cannot afford to abandon Israel or make them give away any part of the land- God's judgment will be on us as a nation. Mike- congratulations- good book!

Mike shares the understanding of Facts not readily acknowledged by the New Age and Liberal Press and One World Government 'progressives' Yet Facts they are and not opinion.Mike also shares The Truth from a basic understanding of God's Word, the Inerrant Eternal Word of God. He does not even branch out into much interpretation of Scripture just the basic facts.

We live in the age long prophesied where Truth is perceived a lie and lies are truth and this age is well underway.
