I stumbled on this album when looking for recorded material by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings (having heard everything else they've recorded), and boy was this a surprise! This is what international music is all about - beautiful, haunting tunes, many of them instrumentals, by Djamel Ben Yelles, Florent Prabel, Amir ElSaffar and of course the inimitable Gillian Welch and David Rawlings.

A surprising and very satisfying experience. If you like lyrical roots music with a decidedly middle Eastern flair, this is the collection for you. Am looking forward to seeing the movie now!

A thoughtful, compelling, can't-interrupt-even-to-go-to-the-bathroom film with a soundtrack so good that I bought the soundtrack cd. If you are interested in Jimmy Carter at all, or the Israel/Palestine situation, or excellent music, this is a must.
