Craig (born 30 June 1981 in London) is an English writer, children's novelist and musician, best known for the Jimmy Coates series of books, described in several reviews as 'The Bourne Identity for kids'.

He studied Philosophy at Cambridge University then became a musician, composing scores for stage and TV, and songs for various pop artists.

Craig is consistently at the forefront of use of new media by children's writers. In 2005 he was one of the first authors to use Facebook to build a fanbase and enhance fans' experience of his writing, using character profiles as well as his personal pages to create an online world that reflected that of his books.

In 2007 he became one of the first children's writers to utilise Twitter as a means of communicating with fans and creating new stories. He continues to use both, as well as experimenting with new kinds of author videos and book trailers on video sites, such as youtube.

He lives in London with his wife and pets: a dog called Harpo and a dwarf crocodile called Professor Sven.

Joe Craig has produced a slick series targeted directly at adolescent boys. Can't remember where I saw the first book reviewed, but I picked it up at the library for my son. He ripped through it in a few days, then I read it too. Fun, slightly violent but not graphic (appropriate for 10+), with strong messages about right and wrong, loyalty, and family. I think 6 books in the Jimmy Coates series are currently published; one more due in October 2009 and the final book in the series in mid-2010. The only downside? Most of the books in the series are NOT available in the US, so I paid UK-to-US shipping rates. I was able to find a couple of the books on UK used-booked sites to save a little and they were all in excellent condition, appeared to be completely unused.

I bought this book thinking it was Jimmy Coates: Revenge, even though the picture is of Jimmy Coates: Sabotage. I received Jimmy Coates: Sabotage and am trying to find Jimmy Coates: Revenge. Revenge should be book number three and Sabotage book number four in the series. I really would like to read number three before I read number four. Can anyone help me out?
