4.0 out of 5 stars Very good in a time of same ole-same ole
This is a Refreshing CD, In a time of " I heard it all before," Jimmy comes out shining. Not sure if he is from the Islands, but he sounds a bit like it. This CD is worth picking up. Only wish he had a couple more songs.

2.0 out of 5 stars I thought he was going to be good. Damn :-(
When I got this album, I was so excited. I thought I was going to get an up n coming star. Wrong. He got a cool voice and that made me get the album. I thought I was going get some good laid back music. It started out with an annoying intro but that's because most r&b albums do so I excused that. Track 2 So Much to Lose was so so. Then track 3 came on "She's All I...

Then track 3 came on "She's All I Got" and it was the bomb so I got back on the bandwagon. And then Track 4 came on "No More Playing Games" and it was horrible. It had this irritating noise sounding like a toy race car the one that you pull back and let go. This beat minus that noise was already used by Carl Thomas's Cold, Cold World and that song was tight so I couln't stand Jimmy's use of the beat. And then he started to really experiment in a bad way. I can kinda feel his vision of being different but he shoulda kept at it until he got it right. Track 5 irritating with the La da da da da hook. Track 6 was skippable. Track 7 sounds like an irritating Craig David song. Most of the beats sound weak on this album.Tracks 8 through 10 was skippable. Track 11 Mr. Man sounds cool but I already had it on Alecia Keyes album which further disappointed me. I commend him on trying to be different but I think he should be part of a group instead of being solo. Hey, he shoulda been Dru Hill's newest member. That's a betta fit because he is betta at ballads. I wrote this review because I was mad I couldn't get my money back.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cozier is an upcoming star, August 4, 2001
This review is from: Jimmy Cozier (Audio CD)
well, after purchasing the new jimmy cozier album, i listened to it through a few times, as anyone has to do, to get the true album into my blood...i have found that Cozier soothes me just like the other R&B artists like carl thomas, joe, donnel jones, and others...he actually uses a background music from carl thomas' cold cold world on track 4 i think on the cozier album...look for this kid to be making many more successful albums

2.0 out of 5 stars WHERE IS HE NOW?, May 3, 2004

I don't know if it was something in the air around Spring 2001 but it seemed like we had several artists to come out with one hit and we have yet to hear anything good or see them ever agian including Jimmy (Koffee Brown "After Party", Sunshine Anderson "Heard it all Before" and Blu Cantrell "Hit em Up Styles") I loveed his first single they played it about twice the night of my Senior Prom, he had a very mediocre second single that I barely remember but I am assuming this is the last that we will ever hear from him.

5.0 out of 5 stars just a dream, June 26, 2003

when i first listened to this album in Paris (yeah i'm from france) i was like "damn.. hot to death!". so i bought it and shew it to my friends . but quickly i realized that no one knew this album and jimmy cozier. but everyone enjoyed it .
i just wanted to say that jimmy is a real good singer . he's got a crystal voice and most of the songs are ok on the album .
my favourites are "she's all i got" "she's all i got(remix)" and fab is terrific on that one . then we got "10 commandments" that is pretty good to, and the best song on this album is definitely "two steps" and that one was unfairly took again by Craig David , hiding us that he was singing one of jimmy's song . he wrote this song in 2001 and Craig's 2nd album was in store in 2002-2003 .
and RL inspired himself of that beat to make "damn" .
just to say that this is a great album , enjoyed by somme of the greatest r'n'b singers of the moment .

I love this c.d.! Though I do skip over more than one track every listen, there are still some great ones that I can never get tired of.

All I can say is Whoa!!! You took my breath away with your album. This is slamming. I never have been taken back of an artist that puts so much into his music. I love She's all I got. I must truly say Jim, I'm not letting you go, you're all I've got. NO,NO,NO. Mr. Man, is terrific, I do my house chores and salsa to this song. So much to lose, speaks truth. Do I tell the truth and risk losing you. Again Whoa!!!

I enjoyed this album. I felt that Jim expressed himself in ways that men are afraid to admit. I love She's all I got and Mr. Man. Mr. Man, I enjoy salsa dancing to. Jimmy keep up the good work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jimmy Cozier "Here to Stay", August 6, 2001

I think everyone needs to run out and get this album. Jimmy Cozier has entered the R&B game and he is here to stay. His album is one of the best new albums out. His song "Two Steps" sounds like a boy band song. The album could have done without it. Every other song complements the album. When I first heard the song "What the Deal" I thought it was stupid. When I listened to the words closely I realized it was very creative. Analyze this one it has an excellent play on words. The song "Stay Strong" is dedicated to single mothers and it is very beautiful. Keep this one in mind for Mother's Day everybody. "Time Stands Still" is a refreshing change from today's typical R&B songs. It is very Jazzy, Funky, and it has some Roots Rock Reggae influences. "Mr. Man" featuring Alicia Keys is a nice treat on the album. My favorite songs on the album are "So Much to Lose" and "No More Playing Games." Please run out and get this album. It has something for everyone. If you like real soulful music you won't be disappointed.
