A preview to the full-length DVD...,
This review is from: Jimmy Eat World (DVD)
This DVD was released as a preview to the upcoming full-length DVD (Believe In What You Want) coming out Feb. 2003. What you get are three full-length music videos, one live concert performance, three live songs (audio only), and a unique rendition of Wham! (George Michael)'s "Last Christmas". Overall, this is still a good buy. The live songs are from the full-length DVD and are suppose to get you (the buyer) interested enough to buy the DVD! Are the live performances good? For the most part, yes. I know I'll be buying BIWYW when it comes out! Anyway, here's the content of the preview DVD:Music videos: Live performance: Live songs (audio only): Cover song: So get it at least for the music videos and "Last Christmas"!

I love Jimmy Eat World with a passion. These guys are incredible. I waited for this video for several months, even though i knew it was just an EP preview to the full video. I have to say that I was pretty dissappointed. I was at the show that they filmed the DVD at, and it was the best Jimmy show I have ever seen (out of 6). But this video makes it look like the show blew. They only show one performance, and im proud to say you can see me in the crowd, but the problem is that the sound .... There is not enough bass, which leaves you with only the sound of Toms guitar and distorts the song. I would wait for the full length video to come out and pass this one up. And keep in mind if you do get this, that Jimmy Eat World sounds MUCH better live than they seem in this video.

Worth checking out for any fan,

Although not a full-length DVD, the JimmyEatWorld DVD EP delivers more than enough bang for your buck. The DVD sells for less than ten dollars at most places and includes 3 music videos, all coming from their latest and most successful album "Bleed American" (aka "self-titled," changed after September 11th). "The Middle" is a pretty good video, even if it's been played about a million times and the song is just a little more than annoying by now. "Bleed American" is an excellent performance video and is the first video from the album. "Sweetness" is the latest video, and probably the best of the three. It's a performance video combined with some trippy graphics and odd images. The live video "Get It Faster" comes from the full-length DVD which comes out later this year (you might have seen this performance air on MTV last summer). The audio section is nice, although I wish they could come up with a way so that you could listen to it like a CD. You get live versions of "For Me This Is Heaven," "Bleed American," and "Authority Song." And as if that's not enough, you also get a cover of Wham's "Last Christmas." All in all, if you are a JimmyEatWorld fan, you should definetly pick this up. It is definetly worth the money.
