This is a smart screwball comedy that doesn't take it's self too seriously and that not understatement. it's just basically a fun screwball comedy with Don Adams and Cleavon Little trading one liners like it was nothing at all. it does get alittle thin near the end but it wraps the story up nicely . Gary plays his nice kid role but this kid has got brains and kidnappers and detective don't, it's funny to say the least. Pat Morita role is just is a hoot to watch, he plays one
of the worst drivers to be driving people in the city, you will have to see it to believe it. you'll laugh yourself sick i did. if you love the Smart dumbness of Get Smart And Little 80's corny fun then this for you. i'll never look at Dee Wallace again the same way she can play dumb blond good, but she so cute in the way she does it though. Ruth Gordon plays cute feisty like nobody's business she always fun to watch in an film she's in. she filmed this movie a year after My Bodyguard which is a good one that she filmed in 1980 , jimmy was released in theaters 81 .

This is PG For Some Language and Situations, Not really bad just minor stuff, it's pretty clean no worries.

A Good Title For Afternoons or Saturdays to Watch.

P.S. after watched this flick and taking sometime to jog my dusty brain cells i remember this title. vaguely i remember ruth gordon's character placing the phone call while on the telephone pole and the car chase funny i remember that, don't you think? i guess was'nt paying to much attention oh well. kids will always be kids. Oh this film was released by Roger Corman film company New World Pictures. which was a great indie film company in it's day those who don't know who Roger Corman is ought to check out midnite movies selection at your local video store or here on amazon or wherever you go to get movies and check his low budget, but very creativity films out, like the poe films he did with vincent price are great and many others.

This review is from: Jimmy the Kid (VHS Tape)
I remember this show was on HBO everyday in the 80s,it has the late Ruth Gordon, the late Cleavon Little[the guy from Blazing Saddles] I read he had 1 daughter. I thought blacks had big families. It also has Paul LeMat,and Dee wallace Stone. I love the Detour sign scene. I forgot how Kelp spelled it.
