This is definitely a jazz album. If the members of Slayer and Metallica had some time in between tours and decided to play a little jazz, it might sound like this. It's brash and in some places the songs are breathtakingly driven. This isn't bebop. Some of the songs could be soundtracks to a horror film. I am not condescending on the album. It has it's great moments, but, this isn't Sunday sitting on the porch sipping tea music either. This is a whole different kind of animal than what most people think of fusion jazz. If Kenny G is a bunny, all sweet and cuddly, Bushman's Revenge is a dragon with fangs and fire. Big fangs and a lot of fire.
If you're daring, this is definitely worth a listen. Meek, this album isn't.

This is quite different. An instrumental release that shows how good CD recording can be. Yet this is very modern. Hard to categorize and the samples do not do it justice. It may not get listened to frequently but will be enjoyed when I do. I am a big fan of drums and there are interesting drums here. Sometimes it seems repetitive but when that starts, it usually shifts gears. Enjoy.
