This review is from: Jnaneshvari: Bhavarthadipika (Unesco Collection of Representative Works: Indian Series) (Hardcover)
This is the best translation I have ever seen in english. This translation is so good that it is still in print after its first publication in 1955. The language is very easy to understand and can even be easily understood by people who are not familiar with eastern philosophy. I have read a few other translations in English of the great Jnaneshvari and liked this best. One of the good things about it is that it has been translated line by line and not paragraph by paragraph.
Hence it is also useful to someone who wants to read the original book (in prakit language) along with this translation. I had also purchased Mr.Bhagawat's translation but gave it away because this one is so much better. An added bonus is that it also has translations of the shlokas from the bhagwad gita (in italics). |
