From Library Journal
What better than a collection of small seasonal motifs as inspiration for a personal sampler built around events of the year? In her sixth cross-stitch motif collection, VersoAa popular British cross-stitch designerAbegins with an essay on using and modifying seasonal motifs in designing a personal sampler. For each season, she includes an alphabet and a band sampler; for each month, there is a floral garland design along with small cross-stitch motifs relating to typical events of the month. For June, for example, there are Father's Day and June bride designs, as well as Winbledon, Le Mans, and fishing motifs. Cross-stitch border and alphabet designs are interspersed throughout. Verso's small, stylized motifs can be mixed and matched in literally hundreds of design combinations. Full-color graphs and clear instructions make for a book that should circulate often in public libraries.
