This review is from: Is. Joan Aiken (Wolves of Willoughby Chase) (Paperback)
Is is Dido Twite's little sister. Although small, she is adventurous and fearless. She enjoys telling grownups how to solve their problems. The problems in this book are grave indeed. A greedy industrialist in the North of England (during the reign of James III) has been kidnapping kids from London to work for him as slaves. Is goes north in search of Crown Prince David and discovers the horrors of 19th century coal mines. Is, undaunted, sets about freeing the children and solving a number of other grownup problems along the way.
