Product Description

A fascinating look at the life and career of Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley.

From the Publisher

Joanna Lumley is one of Britain’s best–loved and most accomplished actresses, whose champagne–swilling, beehived hedonist Patsy on Absolutely Fabulous is considered one of the great TV creations of the 1990s. Born in Kashmir, India, the daughter of a military officer, and educated in an English convent school, Lumley has progressed from Bond Girl and fashion model to an award–winning actress widely acclaimed for her repertory of characters on stage, screen, and TV. Although her professional success appears to have been effortless, there have been bitter disappointments, hardships, and family friction along the way, all of which are covered in this affectionate biography. Drawing on interviews with Lumley as well as her family, friends, and co–stars, this is a candid and revealing portrait.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, August 28, 2006
By E. M. Lux (Rochester NY) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book leaves a lot to be desired. The authors are far too enamored and protective of the subject of the book to be subjective and so the book reads like a teen magazine interview. A good biography fleshs out the details but this book just reads like it was someone's school project to write about Joanna Lumley.
