5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Purchase!
Honestly, a little tricky to put up. They work great to keep the ping pong balls in the garage and most of the bugs out. You may find they don't fit as snug as you'd like to keep bugs out but remember the price you payed! Just spend a little more on some other parts to help keep them closed well. My grandparents have an amazing screen...and it cost them $160. If you want...

This review is of the 16 x 7 ft screen for garage doors on 5/15/2011.
I have purchased and installed 2. One on my garage door, one on a large porch. Both have the same design shortcomings.

This review is of the 16 x 7 ft screen for garage doors on 5/15/2011.
I have purchased and installed 2. One on my garage door, one on a large porch. Both have the same design shortcomings.

It is 16 ft wide but it is about 2-3 inches short of 7ft long. Therefore I had to put edging on the top of my garage door to get it to reach the ground.

They have changed from using sand at the bottom to using what appears to be aluminum pipe. Probably to reduce shipping weight, unfortunately it isn't heavy enough to hold the screen closed against even small winds. I purchased short pieces of steel rebar at Lowes which fit perfectly inside the Aluminum pipe and give it enough weight to stay in place during all wind conditions so far.

The over lap for entry and exit is only 4". Needs to be more like a foot because they use only 1 magnetic at the center to hold it closed. Interesting that the instructions show a screen with a large overlap but the product doesn't have that much. I assume cost savings on material. Added 2 more magnets, one half way between the existing magnet and the top and one between the existing magnet and the floor and now it stays closed well enough.

The top is attached via eyelets in the top stitching. This is an improvement over the velcro I have read about as you can use nails to hang it. It uses velcro for the sides only and, like everyone else says, it doesn't stick for very long. However, if you have a large staple gun and the edge around your door is wood just put 1 staple thru the middle of each piece and the problem is solved.

You can make it work (as I did), but it's not going to be an out of the box perfect fit. When I have to put this much work into a product, it gets only 1 star, even though it is useful.

To keep the bars from ripping out of the bottom, I bought some copper pipe insulation small enough to hold onto those bars. That way, the pipe insulation gets ruined but the bars don't fall out. (pipe insulation = ~60 cents)

5.0 out of 5 stars Garage Door Screen, October 10, 2007
This works as advertised...very fine mesh...you can barely see it. Metal eye hooks on top to hand and weighted aluminum tubes on the bottom to weigh down. Excellent price.....

4.0 out of 5 stars QUICK AND SIMPLE, September 6, 2008
I BOUGHT THIS SCREEN TO KEEP THE BUGS OUT OF THE GARAGE. I TRANSFORMED MY 2 CAR GARAGE INTO A FULL TIKI BAR WHICH INCLUDES TV'S AND LIT UP PALM TREES ETC...THEREFORE, THE BUGS TRY AND COME IN. THE END OF AUGUST IN MICHIGAN, WE GET A FAIR AMOUNT OF THE LITTLE GNATS, MOTHS, CRICKETS, MOSQUITOS ETC...THIS WENT UP FAIRLY EASY (WHICH IS A PLUS IN A CLUELESS WOMAN'S BRAIN) AND DID ITS JOB OF KEEPING MOST BUGS OUT. I DID ADD AN EXTRA MAGNETS DOWN THE MIDDLE TO HELP KEEP IT FROM GAPPING OPEN. OTHERWISE, IT SERVES ITS PURPOSE AND I GET ASKED ALL THE TIME WHERE I FOUND IT. LIGHT THE TIKI TORCHES OUTSIDE AND THE BUGS ARE MINIMAL.

This is one of the best purchases my husband and I have made. We purchased three - double garage screen doors, and enclosed our large front porch. They were ready to hang and my husband spent less than an hour from start to finish. The metal pipes at the bottom keep the screens from moving. Our poodles quickly got the hang of going through the overlapping entrance to come in to the porch. And, best of all - no more mosquitos and flies! Even though the screen is black, it is not very noticeable. There is no obstruction of view looking out or in to the porch. We like that we have the option to remove and store it during the winter. My husband had estimated $300-$500 in materials and as much in labor to have a screen enclosure built. We paid under $90 and it was shipped free since I joined Amazon Prime. It arrived in two days.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the price paid, I'm not complaining (and neither should you)..., April 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I shopped for double garage screen doors at 3 local stores, and left each store feeling like Goldilocks. I then decided to purchase 5 of these on Amazon. So far they seem to work for each of my projects.

By the way, I don't even have a garage, although at home, I do have a carport, a patio deck, and a balcony deck. So these screens are a perfect solution, and are not permanent (removable)!

And at work, there's a loading dock roll-up door that allow birds to fly into the warehouse, but unfortunately they don't all fly out, especially in the summer.

So again, these screens do serve my purposes for the price that I was willing to pay. Now if you need high quality screen doors, then go shop and pay high quality dollars. But don't pay ECONOMY and then complain because you expected to receive HIGH ROYALTY!

And yes, just as it is with many other products, I am very much aware that I may have to replace 1 or 2 of these screens sooner than later. But is that any big surprise? I mean Truly? Really? Seriously?

I purchased this product to keep the bugs out of my garage when the door is open. The only complaint I have about this product are the small velcro pieces that came with the product. The velcro pieces separated from the glue within two hours. As a result I went to the hardware store and purchased an industrial strength velcro which worked better. So for those of you who plan on purchasing this product, I highly recommend that you go to your local hardware store and purchase industrial strength velro.

This item is unfortunately too cheap to even send back for a credit. It does not fit a standard garage door! It is about 6 inches too narrow to fit the frame of a single car garage door.

It's bad quality. The ones I bought did not fit my standard one car garage door. It says it's 8 foot, but there is no way.

For the money this is a good screen. It will only last about one year I am on my second one.I need to get a new one each summer anyways the kids rip and tear it.
You will need to get some better velcro and the bar at the bottom eventually falls out. I looked at other screens for alot more money, so for the price it is worth it.
