4.0 out of 5 stars Great product!
Easy install, looks nice and keeps the flies out. I'd give it 5 stars except the glue on the velcro gave out within an hour (this was after waiting the two hours as per instructions to hang the screen on the velcro) and I kept resticking it until I thought about just putting three nails thru the three velcro spots since I plan on keeping this, or a new one down the road...

1.0 out of 5 stars Falls apart
These screen doors are very poor quality. The velcro came off its tape backing after about a week. The doors do not fit tightly across the edges of the door. The weighting on the bottom of the screen is not heavy enough to keep the screen from blowing inside and wide open. Also - the screens DO NOT fit any size door. They only fit the 36 inch door, anything smaller,...

They only fit the 36 inch door, anything smaller, and you cannot attach the screen to the door frame without leaving bulges and gaps. I would not recommend this product unless you live somewhere where there is NEVER any wind or rain.

Easy install, looks nice and keeps the flies out. I'd give it 5 stars except the glue on the velcro gave out within an hour (this was after waiting the two hours as per instructions to hang the screen on the velcro) and I kept resticking it until I thought about just putting three nails thru the three velcro spots since I plan on keeping this, or a new one down the road when this wears out, on that doorway to minimize fly entry (we live in a rural area). I'm planning on ordering two more for my other entry doors. I had ordered something similar from another company a few years ago but it was very complicated with panels and such and never got fully put up-the intended doorway still has the frame that the stuff was supposed to be attached to sitting there-so I really appreciate the quickness and ease of install on this product! It has weights (marbles in the material) on the bottom as well to keep it hanging down and not blowing in the breeze. For cleaning dust I suggest using a shop vac with a brush on it while it is hanging.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great solution for our needs, May 22, 2009

$15 and about $2 in extra industrial strength velcro (which you'll need because the stuff packed with this product is next to useless) is a great price for this item. It certainly beats spending $200+ we were looking at for a custom screen. It's not as pretty, but it's easily removable and is really only for the blazing hot days of summer.

4.0 out of 5 stars It Just Works, June 8, 2010

This review is from: Jobar's JB4528 Sliding Door Screen, Black, 36-Inch (Tools & Home Improvement)
The name of this device may be a little misleading, "Sliding Door Screen", because it doesn't actually slide. However, the door screen solution that this device perfectly. I really wanted to take advantage of the cool summer evenings/mornings by leaving my apartment porch door open. I could only leave it open partially or not at all some nights because of my fear that I would invite all kinds of flying and/or creepy crawlers into my home seeking. None of our 'luxury' apartments homes have something as tacky as screen doors on any unit. Hence, my search for an easy, removable solution. This item was the cheapest, works as instructed, and arrived quickly after ordering. Just three things: 1) the double sided tape provided to aid in keeping the screen in place on the sides may tare off a little of your door frame paint. Yet, its not that super strong where big chunks will be ripped off. I didn't notice any problems btw. 2) Given these double sided tap tabs provided to help secure the sides of the portable screen, easily entering and exiting through the screen may be less convenient should you have kids running in and out of the portable screen door - despite the happy blue shirt baking women in the product's pic. In this case the tabs will not last/hold up to the constant force of youngsters at play through the portable screen door.3) This was the only down fall to the product and the reason it was probably so much more cheap than the other screen door solution's, NO TENSION BAR/ROD INCLUDED. You'll have to swing by a Wal-mar*, Targe*, HomeDepo*, any home and bath type of store, or another section in Amazon.com to purchase the necessary tension bar/rod. The portable screen door does have two easy to use open slits to insert the bar/rod for quick and easy hanging. Unless you're looking for an certain style or bar/rod color, you really shouldn't be paying more than 3-4 bucks for this NOT INCLUDED necessity to complete to installation of the portable screen door.Levolor/Kirsch/Newell #P581.025 28-48" White Tension Rod

1.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy Screen, July 9, 2009

Very disappointingly, this set of screens are too flimsy. The adhesive on the back of the velcro strips is not powerful enough to hold the screens on a door frame. Besides, screens do not stretch out fully.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does okay, June 26, 2009
This product seems to be a cheaper version of other high quality screen doors. The velcro came off when any type of pressure was applied to the screen--like a large dog running in and out of the opening!

The weights didn't seem as sturdy as some of the screens I've had in the past.

There are several makers of screens and you might be better off with one of the Bug Off Instant Screen Door 36" Width Fits doorways 35"-37"screens. They seem to be heavier, hang from a rod, and stand up to heavy use.

This review is from: Jobar's JB4528 Sliding Door Screen, Black, 36-Inch (Tools & Home Improvement)
So I read others' reviews and though this would be an ok item. The biggest issue seemed to be with the velcro not sticking to the door frame, but I thought I could make it work. I made sure I fully cleaned the frame area to get rid of all dust. I placed the velcro on and waited. A little bit after I put the screen up, the vecro detached from the sticky foam. Velco was still stuck to velcro and the sticky foam was still attached to the door frame, but velcro was no longer stuck to sticky foam. On top of that, the screen material was poorly made and some of the horizontal threads are messed up. DO NOT BUY We would have been better off buying a small roll of screen from the hardware store and waking one on our own.

2.0 out of 5 stars Glue wont Stick, April 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jobar's JB4528 Sliding Door Screen, Black, 36-Inch (Tools & Home Improvement)
Well the idea is fabulous. (Jobar's Sliding Door Screen, Black, 36 inch JB4528) It arrived and I cleaned the surface that I wanted it to go on and put it up, reduced the flys instantly. A few days later I discovered that one of the sides of panel was hanging off of the door. I climbed up and discovered that the glue that holds the velcro is not strong enough to hold the screen. If there is a slight breeze it pulls off. At first I thought it was something I did so I refastened it. This morning I work up to the other side hanging also. So even though it is a good idea a better glue or more heavy duty needs to be applied.

Wish it came in a longer size.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible waste of screen material~, April 11, 2011

OK, here goes,,, This product was not made correctly. According to the specs I measured not once but twice and it's made badly. The sides don't even make it 48 inches long more like 47. The bottom of the screen has weights that move around and don't stay placed in the correct corners of the screen. They should have weighted the whole bottom not just a little small bean bag at the bottom. The middle of the screen where the 2 magnets meet, well they dont meet, you have to align the screen crooked just to get the magnets to connect, which therefore makes the screen useless. This makes both sides of the screen open and free for insects to come as they please. Total waste, save your money and get another portable screen.

3.0 out of 5 stars patio screen, November 4, 2008
It is just what I expected except for the velcro attachments. If you buy this you may as well go buy some velcro from the hardware store that sticks to surfaces better. Other than that I love my screen.
