I ordered these because I couldn't find a pair in my local drugstore that would fit comfortably. I only use when flying because of history with blood clots. I have large (ok, yes fat) calves and these are tight enough to be effective yet comfortable and do not roll down or pinch.

Since this all new to me (the compression stocking wearing) after a bout with DVT, I ddin't know what to expect. On pricing these knee highs, I found quite the difference.
I ordered these from Amazon due to the price, but at the same time purchased what I thought was a similar pair from a medical supply shop near me (at nearly 3 times the price) because I needed at least one pair now. These are much thinner and more like a nylon material when compared to the heavier and more elastic expensive pair.
I'm not indicated the product is not what it is supposed to be, just not what I expected. They are both Jobst products and probably just have different uses. These are more like a dress sock. I feel like they provide good support. I suggest ordering the next size up from what you first think. I had to return mine and get the larger size and still probably would prefer even one more size larger. These are difficult to put on, but seem to fit ok once on. I've worn them every other day or so for about 2 weeks and they seem to be holding up. I prefer a thicker sock for normal daily wear.

I know it's hard to think one could be excited about a stocking... but ya know what?
this compression sock is really effective at reducing the swelling in the ankles and lower calve. After just a couple of days I could see a noticeable improvement in the condition of my ankles.

The 1st day it felt like my ankles had a turnicate on them. But after 2 or 3 days the newness of the fabric relaxed a little bit and is working great without cutting off my circulation. My advice is to be sure to pull out all the wrinkles and slack fabric in the ankle area especially. Otherwise, the wrinkles migrate to the crease where the ankle flexes and really does cut off circulation.

Oh... and say goodbye to sagging socks forever!

I am grateful for this product and its effectiveness.
I am now buying another pair so that I don't have to be without it while the other pair is being laundered.

UPDATE:
it's been months now and I have saved up and now have 3 pairs. These socks are great once you break them in a little.

These compression stockings have given very good relief and are well worth the cost. Other compression stockings purchased in the past were not nearly as good, even though some were more expensive. I'd certainly purchase these Jobst stockings again in the future.

I've tried several styles of Jobst and for every day wear, these are my favorite so far, and more economical. They've got a nice smooth fit and seem to have less binding areas like around the top band. Hate that I have to wear them, but they do help.

I have had chronic ankle swelling since I was a teenager. I've gone to several doctors to try to get to the root cause of what is going on and to reduce the amount of swelling. I was never able to get any answers, only larger medical bills. My sister recommended that I try these stockings to reduce my swelling and they combined with a lower sodium diet have completely changed my ankles and my life really.. I'm about to buy several more.

Can't say I love having to wear these stockings, but they were the brand recommended by my doctor. I loved paying 1/3 the price my local medical supply store was going to charge me. It took a few days to figure out how to put them on. The directions don't suggest turning the leg part inside out over the foot part. Draw the foot part onto your foot and set the heel in place, then roll and pull the leg part up. It only takes 2-3 minutes.

I have very large legs and these fit perfectly. Unlike other stockings, they do not bunch at the ankle or constrict at the knee. I can wear these all day without discomfort and they have provided relief from painful swelling in my ankle and legs.
