5.0 out of 5 stars Handy to have! May 6, 2010
By Casey
This is probably the greatest thing since sliced bread. I was going to buy the original Gorillapod until this came out. It's great! The magnets were strong enough to hold my Canon PowerShot A540. The great thing is that it is the same as the original Gorillapod, just with magnets. So you can still attach it to a tree, but also to a street sign pole. There is also a quick release feature on it that allows you to leave a small attachment on your camera and easily slide it on and off the pod itself. I would recommend this to everyone I know.

Very durable. can get some very nice angles. magnets are very strong ( careful what you let get near them, had an issue with a hotel keycard getting deprogramed, carried in the same bag) they keep their hold and feels secure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty cool June 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
Not bad, but if you think you might want to put a slightly heavier electronic on this, you should go ahead and upgrade to a sturdier model... on the flip side - this is very lightweight and compact, just don't expect it to hold too much.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect size for a compact September 29, 2010

This thing is great! It's extremely light, but does not feel cheap. I have a much smaller cheapo model that comes with many "kits" (I'm sure you've seen it on Amazon...costs like 50 cents) that I carry with me when hiking or need a smaller tripod. This is actually lighter than that one, and it's longer. Each of the segments individually moves, so it is really flexible. The magnets on the feet are uber strong, which can easily hold the camera on a vertical surface. Also, each segment is wrapped in rubber, so if you are putting it in a tree, it can easily grab and hold onto a branch. Excellent product, only I wish it was slightly less expensive. Frankly, this should probably cost around $15, not $25! Probably because it's brand name, but other than that it's perfect!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stronger Then I Imagined August 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
I was a little unsure about whether to get this size or the next size for a SLR, my digital camera is a bit bulky so I thought it would be too heavy, but no. This Gorillapod is strong for its size, I'm sure it will work for any point and shoot digital camera

4.0 out of 5 stars Joby Gorillapod Magnetic January 9, 2011
By B. Boyd

This little tripod is awesome. The magnetic feet on it are worth their weight in gold. You can seriously stick this thing almost anywhere. It's small enough to put in a pocket or purse and super light weight. My only complaint with it is it wobbles to much. So if you stick this thing to a pole and hit the shutter butter, it will wobble a little and might make the picture blurry, depending on your camera. It's not good for anything moving. For example, a few times I've stuck this on the side or roof of my truck as i'm driving to get some cool video, and with the wind and movement of the camera, the video was way to shaky. It's really not that big of a deal, I just put the timer on my camera to take a picture so it steadies out, or i'm just careful to not move the camera a whole lot. Other than that, i've absolutely loved this thing. It enables you to get shots that would otherwise be very difficult. it's awesome for when you want the whole group in the picture in a difficult place to find someone or find somewhere to put your camera. I would for sure recommend this thing to anyone despite it being a bit wobbly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for quick shots December 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
I love my Joby, and I'm so glad I went with the magnetic one. The first place I used it was an lit art installation in a botanical garden at night (Chihuly). Without it I would have no photos worth keeping. It worked out great because the magnets made it so much faster to get it set up on the sign, rail post, or basically anything I could find.
I was concerned about the magnets making it a lot heavier than the traditional Joby but it's still super light.

4.0 out of 5 stars great for point-and-shoots November 25, 2010
By Mr. A

great little gadget. the magnets are quite strong, clinging to the side of a car with ease. holds all point-and-shoots with no problem (and my flip). slr gets more tricky, a light one will work for something quick.

my only gripe is that the plastic bit that connects to the camera is a bit cheap and small (easy to lose), and the locking mechanism isn't so well done. but it all works.
