GI Joe vs Cobra Patriot Grizzly Tank

I purchased the GI Joe Patriot Grizzly for my son about three weeks ago. This vehicle is a tank that will actually fire projectiles. I believe this vehicle is a must-have for the GI Joe fans, but may not be for everyone. I will list the pro's and con's of this toy.

There are several reasons to buy this tank. The tank is a very fun toy to play with. It has the "sound-attack" sounds that is now common with the GI Joe Versus Cobra series. It has the ability to launch projectiles from the cannon. It comes with approximately twenty projectiles and can fire them quilckly. It has a tank commander's seat with a gun emplacement that can be controlled with a joystick. The tank is also equipped with numerous places that you can place additional GI Joes on for the ride. I made the mistake of not purchasing this tank from Amazon.com and bought it from a retailer for $34.99, without tax.
You can not beat this price.

I believe there are three major negatives of this toy that I will list:

The tank's cannon is an annoying piece. It seems to pop off every three seconds of play. I wonder why Hasbro did not make this a permanent fixture to the vehicle.

The tank does not include an action figure. I am not sure why Hasbro failed to include an action figure with this tank. I think for the cost of the tank (I paid $34.99), an action figure would be included. In the past, GI Joe vehicles in this price range generally included an action figure.

The projectiles may be dangerous. I was alarmed at how rapid the projectiles launched from the cannon. This toy should be age appropriate. The projectiles can also jam, but Hasbro informs you how to fix this problem in its instructions.

That concludes my review of the GI Joe Patriot Grizzly. The toy is a must-have for the GI Joe fans, but remember that this toy should only be purchased for age appropriate children. This makes a great Christmas gift, especially now that it is on sale.

It took me an hour and a half just to get it out of the box. It is plastic and not very durable. Certainly not durable enough for a 5 year old child. It is one of his Christmas presents and if it lasts more than 1 day, I will be very surprized. The packaging is ridiculous. The child will be crying before an adult can get it out.

I don't have this yet, but it's the main thing on my Christmas list! I'm sure that any G.I. Joe fan will love this! The projectiles actually fire out of the tank barrel!! Buy it!

The first Delta size GI Joe vehicle to use Action Attack, the Patriot Grizzly is one of the best GI Joe tanks in the 20+ year history of the toyline. Complete with pull out control handle, the operator can rotate the turret along a 160 degree axis and can activate the firing mechanism. The Patriot Super Tank can shoot 10 rounds of ammunition from the hopper on the turret. The sound effects are impressive to say the least. Storage compartment in the back also provides a great place to put Spy Troops gear!. This vehicle holds 3 figures comfortably, with room for several others on top of the structure.
