Joe Gibbs Driven Power Steering Fluid is a fully synthetic oil used everywhere from Watkins Glen to Daytona by the Joe Gibbs Racing team. Designed specifically for racing power steering systems, it delivers improved thermal stability across a wide range of operating temperatures. Thermal stability provides more consistent steering assist, which in turn improves repeatability. In addition, Joe Gibbs Driven Power Steering Fluid's high temperature foam protection also lowers steering system temperatures compared to conventional steering fluids for improved steering precision.

Why Use Synthetic Fluids?

Oil does more than just reduce friction and wear. It also serves as a vital coolant throughout your engine. Keeping parts cool and well lubricated enables parts to last longer, so the Joe Gibbs Racing team sprays oil on their valve springs, camshafts and pistons to keep them cool. The high temperatures on these parts would cause conventional oils to breakdown much faster than synthetic oil. The bottle says that this power steering fluid is not street legal, but I know of no state which requires power steering fluid inspection. Maybe because it's not colored?

Anyway, it works fine in my rack.
