Great Album,
By Ricardo Jay (J-Town 10) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Joe Public (Audio CD)
I'm surprised that people who bought Keith Sweat's "Keep It Coming" CD, haven't been here to comment. This is a great albums. The albums first 2 singles, "Live & Learn" & "I Miss You" are my standout favorites. But, Joe Public are a talented bunch of guys. No wonder Keith Sweat tapped them for his album and for his backing band for his tour. If you are a fan of producer/singer-groups like Portrait, this album is a must-have.

Great 90s New Jack sound,
This review is from: Joe Public (Audio CD)
I used to listen to this CD back when it was originally released in 1992 and loved it! "Live and Learn" was the big hit single at the time. I think I sold it, but I've been checking for it on Rhapsody for the last few years. Well, it's finally available there and I now realize what made this album so unique: it's got some GREAT early 90s beats and grooves, excellent R&B/jazz guitar riffs, and very cool vocal harmonies. The raps and lyrics are pretty typical for R&B of the period (they're actually pretty funny). There's also a lot of sampling. The sound is very similar to Bell Biv Devoe, or any of the New Jack Swing groups. If you want to take a little trip back to 1992, this will do it.
