From the deposition:
BODNEY: Do you still view illegal immigration as a threat to our country as "Joe's Law" says on its cover?
ARPAIO: I don't think I put that title up there.
BODNEY: That was your co-author's title?
ARPAIO: or the publisher. You know how that works.
BODNEY: Uh-huh. but I think you testified that illegal immigration is in your view a threat to America.
ARPAIO: No I think when you say "threat" it's not like a terrorist threat.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shamless Self Promoter, August 11, 2009

Sherrif Joe yet again manages to get some public attention with the publishing of a book. His priorities are ill placed on gaining media attention in lieu of fighting crime.

1.0 out of 5 stars America's Worst Sherrif, August 20, 2009
This review is from: Joe's Law: America's Toughest Sheriff Takes on Illegal Immigration, Drugs and Everything Else That Threatens America (Hardcover)
Joe, where's the section on you killing hundreds of mentally challenged or physically handicapped people in your jails? The part where you're the defendant in over one thousand and five hundred wrongful death cases that could cost your taxpayers over 500 million dollars? The part where you talk about spending fourty cents on food each inmate a day, but a dollar twenty on your dogs? Wait, that part's in there! But not the part where your state charges inmates seventy dollars each day an inmate spends in prison. Seems a little less impressive then, right? The part where your son-in-law is a deputy editor in his local paper, and conveniently buries or does not print any negative stories about you, so the general public doesn't know about the atrocities your police department? The part where your sherrif's department has THE LARGEST public relations division out of any police force in the country? Wait, that part is why this book exists! This book is, quite simply, nothing more than PR for Joe Arpaio. How much taxpayer money did it cost you to get this book ghostwritten?

I got this book signed by Sheriff Joe, and now it turns out the signature was the only thing in the whole book he actually wrote! Not only did he not write the book, but he doesn't even agree with what's written in it.

1.0 out of 5 stars "Joe's Lies", January 7, 2010

I want my money back. Joe writes one thing, then pulls a Yogi Berra in a deposition last week and says, "I didn't say all them things I said."

Blaming the content of the book on his vassal, Len Sherman is lame. Or weak. Or a lie. Take your pick. Hopefully, there is an attorney out there working on a class action lawsuit because of the outrageous lies in this book.

Oh, and don't buy a new copy. I found some used ones here for less than the price of a postage stamp.

1.0 out of 5 stars Since Arpaio didn't read this book, You won't want to read it either, January 8, 2010
By
Self-promoting politician Joe Arpaio admitted in a deposition on Dec. 16, 2009 that he hasn't read the book, Joe's Law and doesn't agree with everything in it. If you believe in the Bill of Rights, you won't agree with the book either. It's no surprise Joe Arpaio is distancing himself from the jingoistic, nativist rhetoric in the book, since he is being sued for racial profiling. He is also under grand jury investigation for abuse of power. The publisher should change the title to Joe's Law: America's Most Illegal Sheriff Abuses the Rights of Immigrants, and Whoever Else Threatens His Bogus Media Image.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific! Entertaining and educational, June 11, 2008
This review is from: Joe's Law: America's Toughest Sheriff Takes on Illegal Immigration, Drugs and Everything Else That Threatens America (Hardcover)
I live in Arizona and no issue is more important than illegal immigration, and Joe's Law offers a fascinating and surprisingly humane and humane portrait of what's really happening, a portrait you don't get from either local or national new, and certainly not from the blowhards on the radio. It was also interesting, and great fun, too, to listen to the sheriff wax on about the media, politicians (especially John McCain) and everyone else he encounters, for better or worse. I recommend this book highly to anyone interested in the leading issues of the day, and where this country is headed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Joe's Law by Sheriff Joe Arpaio with Len Sherman, July 8, 2008
This review is from: Joe's Law: America's Toughest Sheriff Takes on Illegal Immigration, Drugs and Everything Else That Threatens America (Hardcover)
Joe's Law tells it like it is, and is well written and factual. Joe is doing what the government should be doing to protect our country. I am proud to be a member of his Posse for the last six years and look forward to serving him after his re-election this fall.

1.0 out of 5 stars Total waste of Money, July 17, 2008
This review is from: Joe's Law: America's Toughest Sheriff Takes on Illegal Immigration, Drugs and Everything Else That Threatens America (Hardcover)
This book is pretty much a total rewrite of his previous book. He would be sued but you cant sue yourself for copying your own book to make more money. This was really discouraging when you are expecting to get a new book and get ripped off. If this is any indication of how he does his job I will have to reconsider whether a lot of these articles in the papers are telling the truth or not. If someone is willing to rip off his fans then what is he capable of with his enemy's.

Real disappointing Joe. I will not buy another one of your books and now I realize why there are so many of your used books on this site. By the way I just found out that he named himself America's toughest sheriff! Can you believe that? What a joke.
