Book Description

July 6, 2010
From the guru of discovering extraordinary uses for brand-name products come brand-new ways to
make cleaning, organizing, and decluttering quick, easy, and a lot more fun
The public is endlessly fascinated by quirky and offbeat uses for their favorite products and, this time around, Joey Green tackles household chores with his pantry full of cleaning power. Green’s easy and effortless tips and tricks show how to scrub, deodorize, shine, and remove stains with products already in the house.
While Green’s suggestions may sound implausible, they are, in fact, highly effective. Most products on the market today are a complex mix of lubricants, abrasives, and cleansers, giving these brand-name products plenty of power to clean, dissolve, and fix in the most unexpected ways.

Green offers clever ways to make household items do double duty, like using a slice of Wonder Bread to clean up tiny shards of glass from a kitchen floor—just pat it flat against the floor and toss it away—and wiping away the gunk from the bottom of an iron with Purell. This practical, useful, funny, and entertaining volume includes thousands of incredibly simple ways to clean up every room (and dusty corner) in the house.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Info, Yet Too Much Emphasis on "Brand Name" Items, November 5, 2010

I am very impressed with the amount of great cleaning tips in this book! I would have given 5 stars, but I honestly cannot understand why every item he says to use is a brand name product. Does it really matter if you use a "Conair 1875 Watt Hair Dryer" when removing a bumper sticker? Um, no I think not. And literally EVERY SINGLE tip names specific brands, which I guarantee 9 out of 10 times makes no difference what-so-ever. Who knows...Maybe he got a kickback from the companies he mentions. Regardless, great book I would definitely recommend to anyone who hates cleaning as I do.

Hints like use a clothespin to keep frozen food bags shut, use a Magic Eraser to clean stuff.
The redundant tips in each category and brand names listed in every sentence was annoying.

I teach Consumerism to middle school students and they were fascinated with Cleaning Magic. They found great ways to save money and get things clean. They gave it an A+ after factoring the savings into their household monthly budget project.
