I was always a huge admirer of Arthur Lydiard. To read this book is to read a bit of running history, His program is simple, straightforward, effective, and was designed for the masses. You don't always need complex theories and programs. If you want to get in shape with running, and even to compete, this book is essential, The only other author who would come close is Galloway.
